Job Description AWS Solution Architect III Location: Remote, Charlotte, NC Type: Contract (12 Months) Pay Rate: $85-95/hr W2 ONLY, NO C2C Work Arrangement: Hybrid preferred, open to fully remote for exceptional candidates Position Overview: We are seeking experienced and innovative Digital Solution Architects III to support cloud migration and modernization efforts within the Digital IT organization. You will play a strategic role in designing scalable, flexible, and secure solutions across cloud, AI/ML, mobile, and digital platforms, enabling the digital transformation at scale. Key Responsibilities: Drive the design and implementation of cloud-based applications and workload migrations (primarily AWS).

Partner with Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, and Agile product teams to ensure secure, performant, and scalable architectures. Design across the digital tech stack including Web, Mobile, AI, API, SaaS, and COTS products. Lead the architecture of complex Big Data/AI/ML analytics solutions and migrations to AWS.

Produce C4 models, architecture diagrams, and service specifications in alignment with enterprise standards. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure cloud best practices and DevSecOps integration using tools like Terraform and CI/CD pipelines. Mentor and influence engineering and architecture peers across multiple teams and workstreams.

Promote agile, scalable delivery frameworks while supporting product and business outcomes. Required Qualifications: 5-7+ years of experience in digital solution architecture and cloud-based systems. Hands-on expertise in AWS services (S3, Lambda, EC2, EKS, Kinesis, Athena, EMR).

Proven experience in AI/ML architecture, cloud-native data modeling, and big data pipelines. Solid background in Terraform, CI/CD workflows, and infrastructure as code. Experience in real-time data platforms such as Kafka, and systems like Aveva PI is a plus.

Strong understanding of modern web and mobile application development. Proven track record of delivering scalable, enterprise-grade digital products. Ability to lead through influence across technical and non-technical teams.

Familiarity with SDLC methodologies including Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and Waterfall. Experience externalizing APIs for third-party consumption. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of utility forecasting, grid planning, or DERMs (Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems).

Familiarity with AI/ML platforms like Amazon Bedrock, Claude, or similar. Experience with Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform. Prior work with SaaS platforms and COTS solutions in a large enterprise setting.

Education: Associate's degree with 5+ years of experience, or 7+ years of direct architecture and leadership experience in IT, or Bachelor's/Master's/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical field.
