The Program Manager is responsible for managing complex and strategic programs/projects (>500M). He/she additionally holds the responsibility to develop and implement execution strategies adhering to organizational objectives, business project performance, maintaining focus on quality and customer satisfaction. This position leads major project and project teams to ensure program/project goals are achieved on time, on budget while maintaining the highest safety and integrity standards. This role is pivotal for the organization in driving major projects engaged execution to success while supporting sales and business management in de-risking future incoming business.

In this role the selected leader will be responsible for developing major project execution strategy and deploying the needed tactical actions to ensure the successful execution of critical business projects that favors potential repeat business for Electrification Solutions business and ABB.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Ensure HSE standard is fulfilled during day-to-day tasks. Serve as a role model to direct team and rest of the business from an HSE perspective; structure project strategical approach to manage the various project key stages and deploy the needed tactics to enable the set strategy that meets business needs and customer expectations.
  • Create and implement project work plans to meet changing customer needs and requirements, including leading internal project management team and partnering with sales organization on strategic/Mega projects to identify, manage and control project risks; build and deploy an effective program communications plan that meets internal and customer needs.
  • In collaboration with the contract manager, ensures a clear understanding of the project contractual requirements and drive strategy to resolve any outstanding contractual & commercial risks.
  • Assure high level communication adaptability to effectively manage various levels of project stakeholders and executives both internal and customer.
  • Deploy a concise project risk and change management plans and drive capturing & mitigation actions; 20-30% travel is required for this position.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Electrical Distribution business.
  • Minimum of 5 years in management role or equivalent; proven Project Management skills, including creative issue resolution and change management.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to effectively manage a matrix team / organization; excellent oral and written communication skills, including proficiency in English.
  • Knowledgeable in dealing with Engineering, Procurement and Construction and their processes; possesses high level of strategical acumen.
  • Has people management experience; Highly Analytical / Clear Thinker
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and sense of urgency in dealing with tasks; ability to interface and build strong relationships with customers and management at various levels.
  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
