You already know what good customer service looks like. Now do it for a company whose entire mission is helping people understand themselves better!
The Myers-Briggs Company is looking for a Customer Service Advisor to join our small but mighty global support team. If you have a knack for solving problems over email and phone, a calm presence when things get complicated, and the patience to walk someone through a problem step by step, this role is worth a closer look.
This is a fully remote position based anywhere on the East Coast (Eastern Time Zone). You will work an early schedule, either 6:00-2:30 or 7:00-3:30 am EST, which gives you overlap with our European and UK customers in the morning and our US customers later in the day. No commute, no cubicle, and your afternoons are free.
What youโll do
You will work out of Salesforce, responding to customer cases as they come in, both via phone and email. No two days are the same because the questions are not the same. In a given week, you might:
- Help a practitioner in London figure out how to send an MBTI assessment to their client through our Elevate platform
- Place or amend an order for a consulting firm in New York
- Walk a first-time customer through account setup and how to navigate the website
- Look up a certification record from 2015 for someone who needs it for a new role
- Troubleshoot a payment issue or help resolve an incorrect shipment
- Hop on a call with a customer when theyโd prefer to talk or email just is not getting the job done
What you need to thrive in this role
- Customer service experience: You have worked in a support role before, ideally B2B. Call center experience is a plus, though in this role, there are no scripts, call limits, or high pressure metrics.
- Strong written communication: You will spend most of your day writing clear, helpful, professional emails.
- CRM or ticketing system experience: Salesforce Service Cloud is what we use. If you have used Salesforce, Zendesk, or any similar case management system, you will be comfortable here.
- Patience and empathy: Some customers are brand new. Some are frustrated. Some just need someone to listen carefully and point them in the right direction.
- Ability to learn a lot of products: This is the honest part. We have multiple assessments, each with its own reports, certifications, and processes. It takes about 6 months to really feel like you have a handle on things. If you are someone who gets energized by learning, you will do well.
- Self-direction: This is a remote role on a small team. You need to be comfortable managing your day, asking questions, and staying connected with your team through chat and meetings.
Nice to Have (But Not Required)
- Experience supporting customers across different time zones
- Familiarity with professional services, certifications, or assessment-based products
- Spanish language skills
