Swingtech Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Technical Writer to support documentation, reporting, user guidance, process documentation, and deliverable development for federal training and learning management programs.
This role supports the creation and maintenance of clear, accurate, accessible, and well-organized documentation for web-based training platforms, learning management systems, digital learning products, help desk operations, reporting processes, and program support activities. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work with technical, training, QA, data, and program teams to turn inputs into customer-ready documentation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Research content to develop, edit, format, and maintain technical documentation, process documentation, user guides, job aids, reports, meeting materials, and program deliverables
  • Translate information from technical teams, instructional designers, data analysts, QA staff, help desk personnel, and program leadership into clear documentation
  • Support documentation for web-based applications, learning management systems, training workflows, user support procedures, reporting processes, and operational activities
  • Prepare and maintain standard operating procedures, knowledge base articles, FAQs, release notes, user instructions, and internal support materials
  • Review documentation for clarity, consistency, grammar, formatting, accuracy, and alignment with customer requirements
  • Support recurring deliverables such as monthly reports, meeting minutes, action item logs, status updates, and documentation packages
  • Maintain organized documentation repositories, templates, revision histories, source files, and final deliverable versions
  • Track edits, stakeholder comments, revisions, approvals, and document status through completion
  • Support accessible document formatting and apply Section 508 or similar accessibility considerations to electronic deliverables
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to collect inputs, validate content, resolve comments, and prepare submission-ready documents
  • Assist with documenting system updates, training product revisions, issue resolution steps, and operational procedures
  • Contribute to improvements in templates, naming conventions, document workflows, and knowledge management practices

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Information Technology, Education, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered
  • At least 3 years of experience in technical writing, documentation development, content editing, reporting, or related documentation work
  • Experience developing technical, operational, training, user support, or process documentation
  • Strong writing, editing, formatting, proofreading, and document organization skills
  • Ability to gather inputs from multiple stakeholders and produce clear, accurate, and usable documentation
  • Familiarity with document control, templates, style guides, version management, and review cycles
  • Working knowledge of accessibility considerations for electronic documents, including Section 508 or comparable standards
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple documentation tasks and deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting federal, healthcare, IT, training, or learning management programs
  • Experience documenting web-based applications, learning management systems, help desk procedures, reporting processes, or digital training products
  • Experience developing SOPs, user guides, FAQs, knowledge base articles, job aids, or release notes
  • Familiarity with quality assurance documentation, customer comment resolution, deliverable tracking, or records management
  • Familiarity with privacy, security, accessibility, or compliance documentation in regulated environments
  • Experience working with collaborative document repositories, project tracking tools, or content management workflows
  • Experience with using artificial intelligence to improve task efficiency is a plus
