Job description

We are currently looking for a Data Engineer for a 100% remote position on a large federal government project. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data solutions that support healthcare operations, analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making.

The engineer will work within a collaborative environment to build and optimize data pipelines, integrate data from multiple sources, and support cloud-based data platforms. The ideal candidate is a hands-on data professional with experience developing ETL/ELT processes, managing large-scale datasets, and implementing secure, reliable data solutions that support mission-critical healthcare systems.

The candidate must reside within the continental US.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Build and optimize data solutions within Azure cloud environments, including Azure Synapse and Azure Data Factory.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources through APIs and other system integration methods.
  • Develop and support data analytics and reporting solutions using Power BI.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, security, and performance across data platforms.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions supporting healthcare and VA initiatives.
  • Manage and track development activities using Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira.
  • Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
    • 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting data engineering solutions in enterprise data and analytics environments.
    • Experience developing data solutions using Python, Spark, SQL, ETL processes, and data warehousing technologies.
    • Experience with GitHub, data integration, and data analytics solutions.
    • Experience supporting data analytics initiatives within enterprise IT environments.
    • Experience supporting Federal government programs and consulting engagements.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
    • Strong organizational, analytical, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

      Additional Qualifications

      • Experience supporting healthcare organizations, federal agencies, or Veterans Affairs (VA) programs.
      • Familiarity with VA platforms and technologies, including CX Insights, Lighthouse APIs, Medallia, or similar veteran-facing systems.
      • Experience integrating enterprise applications and data sources through APIs and other system integration methods.
      • Knowledge of Azure cloud-native services and modern data platform architectures.
      • Experience using Jira or similar Agile project management and collaboration tools.

      • U.S. Citizenship is required.
      • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Government clearance.
