Job description

Job Title: Medical Science Director/Medical Science Liaison - Northern CA Location: Parsippany, NJ, United States Type: Full-time Contractor Work Model: Remote – offsite Responsibilities

  • Support medical affairs activities across oncology, infectious disease, nephrology, acute care, and related therapeutic areas through compliant scientific exchange, insight gathering, and collaboration.
  • Serve as a scientific resource to healthcare providers, key opinion leaders, pharmacy stakeholders, and institutional decision-makers across inpatient and outpatient healthcare settings.
  • Identify and engage emerging and established KOLs, develop and maintain relationships within healthcare systems, and support scientific discussions at medical congresses and advisory boards.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of medical affairs strategy, including publication planning and evidence dissemination initiatives.
  • Support clinical trial site identification, investigator education, and investigator-sponsored research initiatives.
  • Respond to medical information requests in compliance with policies, document adverse events, and maintain expertise in relevant disease states and products.
  • Provide scientific education and training to internal stakeholders, and collaborate within the organization to drive aligned objectives.
Requirements
  • Advanced healthcare or scientific degree required (MD, DO, PharmD, PhD, DNP, NP, PA-C, or equivalent).
  • Prior field medical/MSD/MSL experience preferred, including 1+ years of scientific engagement experience.
  • 1–5+ years of experience within an academic institution, healthcare system, pharmaceutical, biotech, or related industry setting preferred.
  • Oncology experience required, including engagement with oncology healthcare providers and healthcare systems.
  • Experience within infectious disease, nephrology, critical care, or supportive oncology strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage healthcare systems, institutional stakeholders, and key opinion leaders.
  • Exceptional scientific communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong relationship-building capabilities with healthcare providers and stakeholders.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate complex clinical and scientific information effectively.
  • Proficiency with scientific literature evaluation, medical data interpretation, and insight gathering.
