About the Opportunity:ย 

The Insights Partner is a specialist role that curates, synthesizes and disseminates information and resources of the most relevant research, data, emerging trends, best practices and thought leadership in Canada and the U.S. for strategic prioritization, implementation planning, and thought leadership and influence. The work will be focused on supporting the advancement of streamlined equitable pathways to good work and the recognition of immigrantsโ€™ skills and experience.

This position will report to the Career Pathways Head with dotted line reporting to the Skills Lead. Prioritization and focus of work will be determined by Career Pathwaysโ€™ and Skills strategy and approach, which supports multiple elements of WESโ€™s overall strategy. This position will also work closely with the communication teams to share learnings and insights that inform shared work and objectives.

What You'll Do:

Researchย and Analysis(40%)

  • Monitor research, news, programs and initiatives, labor market and workforce data, employer practices and sector signals, key actors, and other information relevant toย career pathways and skills; provide analysis and advice;ย identifyingย trendsย and emergentย developments and opportunities.ย ย Coordinate across U.S. P&P, WES Canada and Communications to gather and share relevant insights.
  • Conduct research, literatureย reviewsย or environmental scansย toย inform strategy and implementationย (e.g., occupational data, career pathways, job-quality frameworks, pilot evidence, skills-based labor market policy, skill frameworks).ย 
  • Scope and oversee research consultants, as needed.

ย 

Knowledge Mobilization (35%)

    • Lead knowledge mobilization efforts for Career Pathways and Skills byย identifyingย creative, efficient, and effective ways toย disseminateย informationย for internal and external audiencesย in collaboration withย narrative shift and thought leadership leads (U.S. P&P, WES Canada, OOSI)ย and Comms teamsย or narrative shift and influencing goals.ย 
    • Create briefs, memos,ย blog posts,ย decks,ย talking points,ย andย thought leadershipย and learning products in partnership with Communications or narrative shift teams (WES Canada, U.S. P&P).ย 
    • Translate complex data into clear, accessible products and formats

    Learning Integration Across Countries(25%)

    • Maintain a cross-country learning agenda:ย identifyย patterns, synergies, and transferable insights and foster a knowledge sharing culture.ย 
    • Develop and manage a knowledge base by ensuring information is accurate, up-to-date and easily searchable.
    • Select, organize, implement and maintain technology platforms (e.g. SharePoint) to house knowledge.
    • Support the teamโ€™s โ€œstart-up postureโ€ by rapidly synthesizingย whatโ€™sย working and feeding it back into strategy.ย ย 

    Your Experience:

    Required

    • Bachelorโ€™s degree or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experienceย in a relevant field.ย ย 
    • 3-7 years relevant work experience with preference for experience in workforce development, immigration, refugee resettlement or economic development with at least 2-4 years relevant hands-on research or knowledge management experience.
    • Lived and/or learned insight into the opportunities and challenges experienced by immigrant and refugee communities.
    • Demonstrated experience coordinating and working across matrixed teams.
    • Demonstrated experience managing multiple priorities across teams.
    • Ability to build strong relationships and work with individuals at all levels of the organization; work collaboratively with people of different backgrounds, experiences, communication styles, and cultures towards collective goals.
    • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
    • Strong strategic judgment and ability to manage tradeoffs.
    • Strong ability to work within ambiguous,ย dynamicย and entrepreneurial environments and see each new challenge as an opportunity for change; be comfortable with risk and failure as a natural part of long-term success; apply adaptive management approachesย andย operateย with a learning mindset.ย 
    • Exceptional writing and editing skills; ability to convey complex information to stakeholders in compelling formats (e.g. visualization) and products (e.g. reports, webinars) and use clear language.
