About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established SBA lender, is seeking an experienced Senior SBA Loan Closer to join their growing team in a fully remote capacity. This is an excellent opportunity for an SBA closing professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable managing a robust pipeline independently.

Position Overview
The Senior SBA Loan Closer will be responsible for managing the closing process for SBA 7(a) and/or 504 loans from credit approval through funding, coordinating closely with external closing attorneys who prepare loan documentation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and comfortable juggling multiple transactions simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a pipeline of approximately 10-12 SBA loans at any given time, from approval through closing and funding
  • Review closing documents prepared by external attorneys for accuracy and compliance with SBA SOPs, credit approval terms, and investor/regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with attorneys, borrowers, underwriters, and relationship managers to keep transactions moving toward closing
  • Ensure all conditions precedent to closing are satisfied prior to funding
  • Review lien searches, UCC filings, title work, insurance certificates, and other due diligence items
  • Prepare and/or review loan authorizations, notes, security agreements, and guaranties
  • Coordinate post-closing document delivery, trailing documents, and file completion
  • Ensure compliance with SBA SOP 50 10 and other applicable regulatory guidelines
  • Identify and resolve closing issues or discrepancies proactively
  • Maintain accurate pipeline reporting and communicate status updates to internal stakeholders

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience closing SBA loans, with a strong preference for candidates with 7(a) closing experience (504 experience a plus)
  • Proven ability to manage a high-volume pipeline (10+ active files) independently
  • Experience working with outside/external closing counsel is required
  • Strong working knowledge of SBA SOPs, loan documentation requirements, and closing conditions
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fully remote, self-directed environment

Technical Proficiencies

  • Experience with Spark loan origination software strongly preferred (or comparable LOS platforms such as nCino, Baker Hill, LaserPro, or similar)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Comfortable with document management/e-signature platforms (e.g., DocuSign)
  • Experience navigating SBA's E-Tran system a plus
