Senior Director, Business Development - Remote, US

We are currently seeking a Senior Director of Business Development to join our diverse and dynamic team. As a Senior Director of Business Development at ICON, you will play a pivotal role in driving strategic growth initiatives, interpreting complex medical data, and contributing to the advancement of innovative treatments and therapies.

What You Will Be Doing:

You will be responsible for implementing an annual sales plan to achieve specific territory sales quotas and achieving/exceeding those targets on an annual basis. This role will be heavily focused on prospecting leads for new RFPs. You will work cross functionally within a variety of ICON business units to assemble the best team of therapeutic experts to present at bid defenses and effectively position ICON to compete for new business awards.  This will include organizing bid defense prep meetings and calls with the team.  You will be responsible for updating new opportunities and tracking client interactions in SalesForce.

In addition:

  • Represent ICON at industry meetings and conferences

  • Review RFPs cross-functionally

  • Regular reporting on pending, lost and awarded opportunities

  • Tracking all meeting, prospecting activity and opportunity status within SalesForce.com

  • Work with our Inside Sales team to help prospect your region and generate client meetings

What You Need to Have:

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited institution or their international equivalents or equivalent work experience required

  • 5+ years of selling within the CRO industry to biotech clients

  • Located on the West Coast

  • Recent track record of closing multi-year and multi-million dollar deals.

  • Read, write and speak English

Preferred Qualification:

  • 7+ years of selling within the CRO industry

  • Advanced degree (M.S. or M.B.A)
