Job description

Lead Product Manager, CRM

We're looking for a strategic and execution-focused Lead Product Manager to own and evolve the CRM and agent tooling platform powering Matic Local, our new retail distribution channel. This is a greenfield opportunity to define a market segment, tailor the product from the ground up, and scale it into a core growth engine for Matic. You'll partner closely with the Matic Local business lead, engineering, operations, and data to give agents the tools they need to win in local markets.

Candidates must be based in or willing to relocate to Columbus, Ohio.

Responsibilities

  • Define the product vision and roadmap for the CRM and agent tooling platform that powers Matic Local's agent network.
  • Partner directly with the Matic Local business leaders to translate field needs, agent workflows, and distribution dynamics into product requirements.
  • Conduct ongoing user research with agents, loan officers, and referral partners to deeply understand how they work and where friction exists.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through discovery, delivery, and iteration of features that improve agent productivity, pipeline visibility, and referral partner engagement.
  • Design and build the onboarding, lead management, and performance tracking experiences agents rely on to produce results.
  • Define and track success metrics across agent activation, pipeline conversion, referral partner engagement, and overall Matic Local unit economics.
  • Serve as the connective tissue between the field and the product org, translating what is and isn't working into a clear, prioritized backlog.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate AI and automation into agent workflows to reduce friction and increase throughput.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of product management experience, including at least 2 years in a lead or senior role.
  • Proven track record of building and launching new products, not just iterating on existing ones.
  • Experience owning CRM, sales enablement, or agent/partner-facing platforms.
  • Comfort with ambiguity. This role requires defining the problem space before solving it.
  • Strong research instincts and a habit of getting close to users before writing a single requirement.
  • Ability to lead a Scrum team with remote engineering, product, and design members.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills: clear, concise, and collaborative.
  • SQL skills: comfortable independently querying datasets to monitor product health and drive decisions.

Nice to have skills

  • Startup or 0-to-1 product experience.
  • Experience building tools for distributed sales teams, independent agents, or franchisee networks.
  • Familiarity with insurance distribution, mortgage origination, or financial services.
  • Experience integrating CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) or building bespoke agent-facing tooling.
  • Knowledge of referral partner workflows, co-marketing programs, or local market distribution models.

How Matic stands out

  • Career advancement. We have a culture that focuses on internal promotion and career growth.
  • You have an ownership stake, all Maticians receive Matic stock options.
  • Unlimited Paid Time Off.
  • Company covered Health, Dental and Vision insurance for each Matician ($0 out of your paycheck for benefits), plus HSA with employer contribution.
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan.
  • Continuing education, licensing, and professional development paid for by Matic.
  • A TRUE team culture: One team, one dream is our company motto and while we are working hard to simplify the world of insurance, we never forget to play hard as well.
  • Modern office environment, we have a trendy HQ in the heart of German Village in downtown Columbus with awesome amenities including ping pong tables, coffee/espresso bar, and flavored water bar.
