Job Title: Salesforce Administrator

Reports to: Director of Data & Technology

Location: Remote, U.S.-based

Employment Status: Full-time, Exempt


Position Summary

The American Institute for Economic Research educates people on the value of personal freedom, free enterprise, property rights, limited government, and sound money.

The Salesforce Administrator manages, troubleshoots, builds out, and maintains AIER's Salesforce platform to support functions across departments including fundraising and programs.

This role manages system configuration, user access, data quality, automations, reports, dashboards, integrations, and ongoing platform improvements.

This role works in close coordination with development staff and technology team to resolve system issues, translate operational needs into practical Salesforce solutions, and ensure AIER's CRM infrastructure remains accurate, reliable, secure, and effective.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain AIER's Salesforce environment, including users, permissions, security settings, objects, fields, page layouts, reports, and dashboards
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system errors, data issues, automation failures, integration problems, and user support requests
  • Build and improve Salesforce workflows, flows, reports, dashboards, and other configurations based on organizational needs
  • Maintain accurate donor, prospect, gift, grant, and engagement data
  • Manage data imports, exports, updates, deduplication, and routine data-quality reviews
  • Work with fundraising and development staff to understand business needs and translate them into practical Salesforce solutions
  • Maintain integrations between Salesforce and AIER's fundraising, communications, payment, and other technology platforms
  • Test and deploy system changes while maintaining clear documentation
  • Train and support staff in the effective and consistent use of Salesforce
  • Monitor Salesforce releases, platform performance, security, and opportunities for continued improvement
  • Coordinate with outside consultants or developers when specialized technical work is required


Qualifications and Skills

  • Commitment to AIER's mission and classical liberal principles
  • Three or more years of hands-on Salesforce administration experience
  • Salesforce Administrator certification required
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage, troubleshoot, configure, and improve a Salesforce environment
  • Strong knowledge of user administration, permissions, data management, reports, dashboards, validation rules, and Salesforce Flow
  • Experience identifying and fixing data-quality, automation, integration, and user-access issues
  • Experience gathering business requirements and building practical, maintainable Salesforce solutions
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Ability to explain technical issues clearly to nontechnical colleagues
  • Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential donor and organizational information
  • Experience with nonprofit fundraising, development operations, or the Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) preferred

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time remote role based in the United States. The expected salary range for this position is $60,000-$80,000 annually, commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications.
