Job description

The Safety Manager is responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe work environment by supporting health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs across telecommunications operations. This role partners with field teams, contractors, and leadership to ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards, conduct training, investigate incidents, and foster a strong safety culture.

    • Essential Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain company safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct field safety inspections, audits, and job hazard analyses.
  • Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Deliver safety training, including fall protection, RF awareness, electrical safety, PPE, and defensive driving.
  • Monitor OSHA compliance and maintain required safety documentation.
  • Support contractor safety programs, fleet safety, and driver compliance.
  • Track safety metrics, inspections, and training records.
  • Assist with emergency response planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with Operations, HR, and leadership to promote a culture of safety.
    • Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Health, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of safety experience, with at least 3 years supporting field operations in telecommunications, construction, utilities, or a related industry.
  • OSHA 30Hour Construction or General Industry certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and safety management systems.
    • Preferred Qualifications
  • CSP, ASP, CHST, or similar certification.
  • Experience in telecommunications or utility construction.
  • Tower safety, RF awareness, HAZWOPER, or Confined Space certifications.
  • Experience managing contractor safety and fleet safety programs.
