Responsible for a defined Region or Territory, calling on current and prospective customers and brokers. Travels to markets and grows brand share by achieving volume and profit goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develops a sales plan for each market and customer within that market.
  • Secures the best possible broker sales force and continually measures goal achievement.
  • Responsible for budgeting all planned expenditures within their assigned region (customer programs, T&E and others) on an annual basis.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of Butterball systems and operations.
  • Communicates all promotional activities (volume forecasts) to the appropriate departments within Butterball to ensure exceptional customer service.
  • Accountable for P & L and volume responsibility for their region.
  • Communicates all key customer issues to the appropriate areas within Butterball to ensure follow up and resolution.
  • Directs all broker activity aimed at increasing our business within the respective markets.
  • Maintains accurate and up to date files on all customers and brokers.
  • Works cross-functionally to ensure a positive and pleasant customer experience for all business that occurs within the assigned area.
  • Submits weekly and ad hoc reports in a timely manner (i.e., expenses, weekly updates, etc.).
  • Attends all relevant training sessions conducted by the organization..

Minimum Qualifications (Educations & Experience)
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • 5+ year of experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ample experience in outside sales
  • Strong knowledge of relevant sales area (i.e., retail sales, consumer packaged goods, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of the turkey business, product assortment knowledge, and category consumer preference
  • Proven ability to review, interpret, and identify growth opportunities within syndicated data
  • Sound communication, presentation, interpersonal, and negotiation skills with the ability to interact at any level internally and externally
  • Proven ability to foster strategic relationships
  • Solid project management skills with the ability to effectively guide cross-functional teams
  • Skilled at vendor and broker management with the proven ability to develop and maintain long-term strategic relationships

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bachelor's degree

Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, keyboard, and occasionally lift up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office environment with the option to work remotely periodically. For remote work, the employee must have a dedicated workspace to safely setup and use assigned IT equipment, preferably free from distractions. The employee is responsible for ensuring adequate internet service is available when working remotely (the recommended minimum speed is 20mb download and 5mb upload).
  • The noise level of the environment is usually moderate.
  • Regional travel required a minimum of 2 days a week.
