Watertown Regional Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our exceptional team. Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting in-home therapy sessions or group therapy in our outpatient center, providing individualized support tailored to each client’s unique needs.
  • Implementing therapeutic techniques such as anger management and coping strategies to assist clients in managing high-risk behaviors.
  • Working closely with clients to improve decision-making skills for youth and caretakers facing in-home behavioral challenges.
  • Collaborating consistently with our Child Family Treatment Team as well as multi-disciplinary professionals to ensure comprehensive support for families.
  • Documenting all treatment activities, including intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes, within designated timeframes to maintain clear communication with the team.
  • Participating in monthly team meetings to discuss cases, share insights, and identify opportunities for enhancing service delivery.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will engage with a wide range of clients, including adults, youth, and families, all facing various challenges that impact their mental health. By utilizing a wellness model, you will focus on building resilience and reinforcing the strengths of each client, fostering an environment that promotes healing and empowerment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field.
  • An active and unrestricted LMFT license.
  • Availability to work a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours, particularly between 4-7 PM.
  • A valid driver’s license and a registered vehicle to facilitate travel for in-home client sessions.
  • A clear criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
Preferred Experience

While a minimum of 2 years of experience is required, candidates with experience in providing positive behavior support and working with diverse populations will stand out. Prior exposure to multi-disciplinary treatment settings can also be advantageous.
