What is remote rotoscoping?

Remote rotoscoping is the process of digitally tracing over live-action footage frame by frame to create realistic motion for animation or special effects, performed by artists working from a location outside of a traditional studio. This work is often done for films, TV, or commercials to separate objects or people from the background or to add visual effects.
