Description
Husson University is seeking experienced and passionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) to join our team as Adjunct Faculty in the graduate nurse practitioner program. Adjunct faculty will contribute to the academic mission by teaching, mentoring, and supporting graduate nursing students in didactic or clinical in the online learning environments.
Example of Duties
  • Teach assigned courses within the PMHNP program in accordance with curriculum guidelines.
  • Provide clinical supervision and evaluation of graduate nursing students in psychiatric/mental health settings.
  • Foster a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Guide students in developing clinical reasoning, critical thinking, and professional practice skills.
  • Participate in course and program meetings, as needed.
  • Maintain current knowledge of psychiatric/mental health practice, education strategies, and accreditation standards.
  • Grading per University policies for 7 week and 15 week courses
  • Collaborate with the track faculty and program director as needed
  • Ensure compliance with university, state board of nursing, and accrediting body requirements
  • Foster a supportive, inclusive, and professional learning environment.

Qualifications
  • Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or PhD in Nursing preferred; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required.
  • Current, unencumbered RN and APRN licensure.
  • National certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience as a practicing PMHNP.
  • Prior teaching or precepting experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
