Department OverviewThe Command Center Solutions and Services team delivers solutions and maintenance services to the public safety sector. We are committed to providing technology and tools which will allow customers to focus on their mission, and enable them to respond faster with smarter and safer decisions.
The projects contained in the Command Center portfolio include large Statewide, Regional, and major Municipal Public Safety Applications (CAD, Mobile, Records Management, Crime Analysis, and Jail), Emergency Call Handling/Next Gen 911 solutions, Asset Management Solutions, and other applications used in the Command Center.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

Following PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge) standards, you will manage the full project lifecycle from Initiation through Closing.

Project Integration & Planning

  • Master Project Plan: Develop and implement a comprehensive Master Project Plan using automated project management tools, defining the project charter, scope, and integrated change control processes.

  • Operational Workflow: Acquire and maintain a high-level understanding of internal organizational workflows to ensure project alignment with business objectives.

  • Accountability: Own the successful implementation, cutover, and formal hand-off to the Support team for all emergency call handling projects.

Scope & Schedule Management

  • Scheduling: Initiate, generate, and maintain detailed project schedules (WBS). Lead regular scheduling status reviews to track actual progress against the baseline.

  • Execution: Ensure all milestones and deliverables are met according to the project lifecycle, managing the transition from legacy systems to NG911.

Financial & Cost Management

  • Budgeting: Maintain project budgets encompassing both labor and capital expenditures.

  • Performance Metrics: Monitor financial objectives including revenue recognition, margin health, and cash flow.

  • Cost Analysis: Perform detailed analyses of project costs and lead status reviews with management to ensure the project remains within financial constraints.

Risk & Quality Management

  • Risk Assessment: Perform ongoing risk identification and qualitative/quantitative analysis. Develop and maintain a Risk Register and mitigation plans.

  • Issue Escalation: Promptly alert management of significant risks or problems and prepare actionable recovery plans.

  • QA Compliance: Ensure all projects adhere to Motorola Solutions' designated standards and Quality Assurance processes to ensure mission-critical reliability.

Communications & Stakeholder Management

  • Primary POC: Serve as the central point of contact for customers, subcontractors, and internal cross-functional teams.

  • Customer Relations: Establish and nurture relationships with customers and channel partners.

  • Facilitation: Organize and lead project kick-offs, status meetings, and steering committee reviews to ensure alignment across all stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree or 5+ years of experience managing external customers facing complex deployment programs and/or software application deployments required.

  • PgMP, PMP and/ or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) are strongly desired.

  • Remote position based in the United States with the ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

  • Experienced with Public Safety communications systems is considered an asset.

  • Skilled in using project scheduling applications like Microsoft Project, Smartsheets, or similar applications and building intricate master schedules.

  • Prioritize customer needs, satisfaction, and long-term success as the primary focus in all activities and strategies.

  • Strong financial acumen, demonstrated experience accelerating revenue growth and containing cost.

  • Experienced with project risk assessment and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Must be a self-motivated team player able to work effectively with general guidance toward objectives.

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check, and pass and maintain CJIS Security and Privacy: Privileged Role certification requirements.

  • Must have excellent interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills.

  • Must be able to think outside of the scope of responsibilities and take initiative.

  • Must be able to work collaboratively with regional and territorial management.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with relevant peers and senior stakeholders.

  • A Master's Degree is considered an asset.

Target Base Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
