Partner directly with Account Managers and Business Development Managers on application-driven and technically complex opportunities.

Participate in AM-led customer calls, meetings, and site visits to validate application requirements and provide technical credibility.

Review customer specifications and requirements prior to final pricing and quotes.

       Support resolution of technical objections.

Pricing & Commercial Advisory Support

Advise Account Managers on pricing strategy tied to application complexity and execution risk.

Support margin-aware pricing decisions without owning pricing authority.

Help AMs defend pricing through technical and application-based value.

Strategic & Large Opportunity Consultation

Be consulted on large, strategic, or high-risk opportunities.

Validate technical scope prior to final pricing submission.

Identify risks and recommend configuration adjustments to protect margin and delivery.

Application & Solution Validation

Recommend technically compliant and application-appropriate solutions.

Evaluate alternates, substitutions, and configuration options.

Ensure alignment with applicable standards and specifications.

Internal Escalation & Risk Mitigation

Act as a technical escalation point for AMs and commercial channel.

Reduce downstream execution issues and rework.

Sales Enablement & Knowledge Development

Deliver application-focused training to Account Managers.

       Support channel and commercial projects/quotes

Develop technical guides and reusable tools.

Supplier & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Serve as liaison between AMs, Category Management, and supplier engineering teams.

Role Boundaries

The Application Sales Engineer advises on pricing strategy and is consulted on large opportunities but does not own accounts, carry quota, negotiate pricing, or close deals.

What Success Looks Like:

Increased win rates on complex opportunities.

       Improved margin discipline.

Reduced technical escalations and pricing rework.

       Ensuring flawless customer service experience
