Duties
Help
- You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the weight handling and waterfront support equipment operations., maintenance and repair.
- You will assign work to subordinates based on priorities.
- You will utilize software applications such as word processing tools, spreadsheets, metrics related programs, and data entry tools.
- You will apply extensive knowledge of crane, weight handling and rigging operations procedures, regulations, processes and operations of category 1 weight handling equipment.
- You will communicate effectively with senior levels of management and military officials to resolve difficulties, acquire information, plan coordinate, and advise on issues.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) leading/supervising a mixed workforce of both GS and Wage Grade personnel; 2) Utilizing job relevant information and software applications such as word processing tools, spreadsheets, metrics related programs, and data entry tools; 3) Applying extensive knowledge of crane, weight handling and rigging operations procedures, regulations, processes and operations of category 1 weight handling equipment; 4) Communicating effectively with senior levels of management and military officials to resolve difficulties, acquire information, plan coordinate, and advise on issues; 5) Proficiency in rigging and crane operations, combined with leadership qualities proven to command respect and drive results
