About the Company
Our client is a growing engineering and technology organization specializing in the design, integration, and delivery of advanced transportation and infrastructure systems. To support continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to lead engineering activities and provide technical oversight on rail and transit projects across Canada.

Position Overview
The Project Engineer will play a key role in the design, delivery, and governance of complex transportation systems. Acting as the Engineer of Record where required, the successful candidate will ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and project objectives while supporting multidisciplinary project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
This position offers the flexibility of remote work within British Columbia, along with opportunities to collaborate on impactful infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as Engineer of Record on assigned projects and ensure engineering compliance throughout project execution.
  • Serve as the Responsible Registrant for projects within British Columbia, maintaining professional practice requirements and overseeing engineering activities.
  • Lead engineering design activities in collaboration with technical and project stakeholders.
  • Manage requirements engineering processes, including requirements traceability through design, verification, and validation activities.
  • Oversee the development and control of engineering documentation and ensure compliance with quality management standards.
  • Coordinate technical interfaces with clients, contractors, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
  • Support project execution activities including design reviews, construction support, commissioning, testing, and field inspections.
  • Conduct engineering field reviews and provide technical recommendations as required.
  • Contribute expertise related to operations and maintenance, reliability, availability, maintainability, safety, and security considerations.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical proposals, cost estimates, and tender documentation.
  • Review, sign, and seal engineering documents when required.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered in British Columbia and Ontario, or eligible for registration.
  • Extensive experience in the design, commissioning, verification, and validation of rail and transit systems.
  • Strong understanding of transportation infrastructure projects and engineering governance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to project delivery.
  • Comfortable assuming technical leadership and accountability for engineering decisions.
Technical Expertise
Experience with one or more of the following systems is required:
  • Public Address Systems
  • Passenger Information Display Systems (PIDS/PVIS)
  • Telephony and Communication Systems
Additional experience in the following areas is considered an asset:
  • CCTV and video surveillance systems
  • Passenger counting technologies
  • Life safety and emergency communication systems
  • Coordination with regulatory authorities and emergency response agencies
