Job description

Job Summary:
Viking is seeking an AI Engineer to build and operationalize AI Agents that directly support software development and testing workflows. The primary goal of this role is to drive meaningful productivity gains by reducing manual effort, accelerating delivery, and strengthening engineering and quality capabilities through AI enabled workflows. These agents will help teams work more efficiently and consistently as the platform and engineering practices continue to evolve.
This is a hands-on, delivery focused role. You will work closely with engineering, QA automation, and systems analysis to identify high leverage opportunities, build reliable agents, integrate them into existing toolchains, and measure impact through clear productivity and quality outcomes.
This is a hybrid position based in our Woodland Hills, CA office. You will be required to adhere to our hybrid work policy, working from our office Monday and Thursday plus one additional weekday on a weekly basis.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Design and build AI Agents that assist with development activities such as code generation support, code review assistance, refactoring suggestions, and documentation creation.
  • Build AI Agents that support QA automation, including generating test cases, creating automated test scripts, expanding regression coverage, and analyzing test failures.
  • Demonstrate strong data science expertise with working knowledge of Databricks concepts and workflows to partner effectively with the Databricks platform team, enabling rapid integration and maximizing the impact of agentic automation initiatives.
  • Integrate agents into engineering workflows and tools such as source control, CI/CD pipelines, ticketing systems, and test frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain reusable agent frameworks, orchestration patterns, and prompt libraries to standardize quality and scalability.
  • Implement guardrails to ensure outputs are reliable, secure, and aligned with engineering standards.
  • Collaborating with engineering and QA leads to prioritize use cases based on effort, risk, and measurable impact.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce repetitive work and eliminate bottlenecks across engineering and testing lifecycle stages.
  • Support change management by documenting agent capabilities, training team members, and encouraging adoption through simple workflows.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Strong software engineering background with hands on experience building and operating production services and automation solutions.
  • Hands on experience integrating LLMs and building AI powered workflows.
  • Experience implementing retrieval augmented generation using embeddings and enterprise knowledge sources to improve response accuracy.
  • Experience designing evaluation frameworks, prompt regression testing, and automated safety and quality controls.
  • Experience developing applications that integrate data science or ML-driven capabilities, with exposure to Databricks-based data or model outputs in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong proficiency in C# & Python with experience building AI enabled applications.
  • Experience with agent-based AI frameworks such as Microsoft Agentic Framework, LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, OpenAI, or equivalent technologies.
  • Experience building and integrating REST APIs, backend services, and asynchronous workflows, including dependency injection and configuration management.
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Azure DevOps.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms, with Azure preferred.
  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Passion for innovation and advancing Generative AI capabilities in real world engineering workflows.
