What is a Remote RF Engineer job?

A Remote RF Engineer is a professional who designs, analyzes, and optimizes radio frequency (RF) systems while working remotely. They focus on tasks such as network planning, signal analysis, interference mitigation, and equipment testing for industries like telecommunications, aerospace, and defense. Using specialized software and tools, they ensure effective wireless communication without being physically present at a work site. This role requires knowledge of RF principles, antenna design, and wireless standards. Strong problem-solving skills and experience with RF simulation tools are essential for success in this position.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Remote Rf Engineer position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote RF Engineer, you need a strong background in radio frequency theory, wireless communication, circuit design, and a relevant engineering degree. Familiarity with RF simulation tools (such as CST, HFSS, or ADS), spectrum analyzers, and certifications like a Professional Engineer (PE) license or relevant vendor certifications are highly valued. Excellent problem-solving, self-management, and clear written and verbal communication skills distinguish top candidates. These skills are crucial as RF Engineers must independently analyze, design, and troubleshoot complex wireless systems while effectively collaborating with distributed teams.

What are the typical daily responsibilities of a Remote RF Engineer?

As a Remote RF Engineer, your daily responsibilities often include designing, simulating, and testing RF circuits and systems, diagnosing performance issues, and optimizing wireless networks from a remote location. You may collaborate virtually with cross-functional teams, prepare technical reports, and participate in project meetings. Many remote RF Engineers also support field teams by analyzing remote test data and providing guidance on troubleshooting. The role requires strong self-discipline and proactive communication to ensure timely project delivery and effective teamwork.

Principal Product Manager, Signal Processing

Code Metal

Washington, DC โ€ข On-site, Remote

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement, PTO

Posted 14 days ago

Job description

Code Metal is redefining code translation for mission-critical industries. We build code-to-code translation platforms that help commercial and defense partners across telecommunications, electronic warfare, and advanced signal processing move more quickly and reliably from algorithm to silicon. Our platform accelerates deployment of DSP, RF, communications, and embedded signal processing algorithms onto heterogeneous compute targets including GPUs, FPGAs, ASICs, and edge SoCs.ย

We are hiring a Principal-level Technical Product Manager for Signal Processing, who will be a critical part of our Product team and own product discovery, direction, and outcomes for our signal processing customers.

The Role

This is a leadership role responsible for ensuring we build the right code translation pipelines for Signal Processing applications - particularly across radar, telecommunications, space, electronic warfare, and SIGINT environments - that can be easily adopted and scaled within commercial and defense ecosystems.ย

This role exists to produce a clear outcome:

Code Metal has a clear product roadmap for supporting accelerated development and deployment of Signal Processing algorithms on the most commonly used FPGAs, embedded ASICs, and edge SoCs.

You will work directly with customers, engineers, and growth leaders to identify source languages and hardware target platforms for applying Code Metal's verified code translation technology to accelerate the development and deployment of Signal Processing algorithms.ย

Success is measured by clarity, and time-to-impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Own product strategy and roadmap for code translation pipelines focused on Signal Processing solutions
  • Define and prioritize the FPGA, ASIC and edge-SoC platforms to target for accelerated deployment
  • Engage directly with commercial and defense customers to understand how they evaluate, adopt, accredit, and scale new technology
  • Combine customer and end-user needs with technical feasibility to shape functional specifications, user stories, and success metrics
  • Identify patterns across customer engagements that inform platform capabilities rather than one-off solutions

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, technical product leadership, or adjacent roles in the area of Radar and Signal Processing
  • Experience with developing FPGA, edge-SoC or hardware-constrained solutions for radar systems, telecommunications, electronic warfare, SIGINT, or space applications
  • Experience with radar and signal processing algorithms
  • Experience with MATLAB or Python for algorithm development
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Strong product discovery skills including customer interviewing and problem framing
  • US Citizenship required

Benefits

  • Pay depends on experience, but we strive to be at the upper end of the salary range
  • Health care plan with 100% premium coverage, including medical, dental, and vision.
  • 401k with 5% matching.
  • Paid Time Off (Uncapped Vacation, plus Sick & Public Holidays).
  • Flexible hybrid or remote work arrangement.
  • Relocation assistance for qualifying employees.
