CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Overhead Electric Transmission Engineer IV to join our Electric Transmission Team and lead the way in planning, designing, and implementing electric overhead transmission initiatives in Atlanta, GA or working remotely. This is your opportunity to take ownership of complex projects, mentor junior engineers, and play a pivotal role in delivering critical infrastructure solutions for the communities we serve.

This position offers fully remote capabilities; however, occasional on-site responsibilities may be required if you are located near a CHA office.


  • Provide advanced judgement and analysis techniques to complete complex engineering designs, technical reports, specifications, and contract documents for electric overhead transmission projects such as rebuilding existing overhead transmission lines, designing new green field transmission lines, and supporting utility project scoping
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of projects with other engineering disciplines and project management staff
  • Monitor project progress and performance to ensure efficient production and minimize issues across critical electric transmission initiatives
  • Complete projects within budget and scheduling constraints, supporting sustainable, cost-effective, and future-ready grid solutions
  • Provide guidance and technical review for junior engineering staff working on electric overhead transmission and power delivery projects

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required
  • Minimum of 4 years of discipline-specific engineering experience required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Advanced proficiency in engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, PLS-CADD, etc.), as well as Microsoft Office
  • Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred
