About BIMTM:
At BIM Technology Management (BIMTM), we don’t just model projects — we help teams build them better.
We partner with contractors across the country to deliver high-quality BIM/VDC services, and we’re known for doing things differently: higher standards, better people, and a team that actually enjoys working together.
About the Role:
We’re looking for someone with electrical field experience who’s ready to get into the BIM side of the industry — someone who understands how electrical systems are actually installed and wants to apply that knowledge in a new way.
This is a great opportunity for someone coming from the field (Journeyman Electrician or similar) who’s ready to transition into BIM/VDC.
You don’t need to be a BIM expert.
We’ll train you on the tools.
What we need is your real-world experience and problem-solving mindset.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and support electrical BIM models using Revit and related tools
- Apply field experience to ensure models are accurate, buildable, and efficient
- Participate in coordination efforts and help identify constructability issues
- Collaborate with BIM Leads and project teams to improve quality and consistency
- Review drawings and models with a “how would this actually be installed?” perspective
- Continue developing BIM/VDC skills through hands-on project work
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Commercial electrical field experience required
- Journeyman-level or higher experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of:
- Electrical systems and installation methods
- Strong understanding of conduit routing, circuiting, and rack layout principles
- Construction drawings and jobsite workflows
- Sequencing and coordination between trades
- Problem-solver mindset — able to think beyond the drawing set
- Comfortable learning new tools and technology
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills
Preferred (Not Required)
- Exposure to Revit, Navisworks, or BIM/VDC workflows
- Experience participating in coordination meetings
Benefits
Why This Role is Different
Most BIM roles require years of modeling experience.
We don’t.
We believe the best BIM comes from people who have actually built the work. This role is designed to bridge that gap — bringing field knowledge into BIM and giving you the tools to grow quickly.
Growth & Development
This role is built for growth within BIMTM.
Potential paths include:
- Electrical BIM Specialist (advanced)
- BIM Lead – Project/Client Facing
- Trade-focused Subject Matter Expert
We invest heavily in training and expect this role to grow quickly with the right person.
What You Can Expect at BIMTM
- A team that values ownership, accountability, and getting things done
- Clear expectations and high standards (we don’t do average here)
- Flexibility and remote work environment
- Opportunities to grow your career beyond the field
Core Working Hours:
This role operates within our core collaboration hours of 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM CST, with flexibility outside of that to complete your workday.
If you’ve ever looked at a set of plans and thought, “there’s no way that’s actually getting installed like that,” you’ll probably fit in well here.
