Compliance Specialist

Revivn

Fresno, CA • Remote

Full-time

Posted 13 days ago

Job description

Revivn is a profitable and rapidly growing company that helps enterprises manage their technology through our end of life software platform. We take electronic recycling one step further by repurposing hardware that still has remaining life and providing it to people who lack dedicated computer access and make it more affordable for people who may not be able to purchase new technology. Working with companies like Instacart, Lyft, Qualtrics, X, Gensler, and Spotify, we are changing the way companies view used technology with a new model that focuses on repurposing instead of recycling.

We are seeking a Compliance Specialist to partner with us in building and owning the compliance program that keeps our ITAD operations audit-ready, regulator-friendly, and trusted by our enterprise customers.

Please note this role is 4 days a week onsite with remote Wednesdays in our Fresno facility.

What you'll doISO Management Systems
  • Lead day-to-day management of our ISO 9001, 27001, 45001, and 14001 management systems, including documentation, controls, and records.
  • Maintain audit-ready evidence and ensure each standard's requirements are continuously met across the organization.
  • Coordinate certification, surveillance, and recertification audits with external registrars from scoping through closing meeting.
  • Drive corrective actions, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives to closure.

ITAD & Environmental Regulatory Compliance

  • Monitor and interpret federal, state, and local regulatory obligations applicable to ITAD, e-waste, hazardous materials handling, and downstream vendor management.
  • Own ITAD compliance certification requirements, including downstream due diligence, data sanitization documentation, and material tracking.
  • Maintain a master calendar of recurring filings, permit renewals, and reporting deadlines across every jurisdiction we operate in.
  • Track changes in e-waste, data destruction, and environmental laws (EPA, DTSC, state e-waste programs) and assess their impact on the business.
  • Prepare and submit required reports, certifications, and disclosures to regulatory agencies and certification bodies on time and accurately.

Internal Audits & Policy Management

  • Plan, execute, and document internal audits across departments to verify adherence to internal policies and external standards.
  • Own the company's policy library: drafting, reviewing, and updating policies and procedures on a regular cadence.
  • Train teams on new and updated policies to drive organization-wide adoption.
  • Report audit findings, risk exposure, and improvement opportunities to leadership with clear recommendations.

Consultant & Program Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external compliance consultants, auditors, and certification bodies.
  • Scope, manage, and evaluate consultant engagements to ensure deliverables meet requirements on time and on budget.
  • Coordinate cross-functional input so consultants and auditors get accurate, timely information from the right stakeholders.
  • Take full ownership of the compliance program end-to-end, from planning through execution and reporting.
What we are looking for

Experience & Skills

  • 2+ years of compliance, quality, EHS, or risk management experience — ideally in ITAD, electronics recycling, refurbishment, reverse logistics, or a similar operations-heavy environment.
  • Hands-on experience supporting or managing one or more ISO management systems (9001, 27001, 45001, or 14001).
  • Familiarity with R2v3, e-Stewards, NAID AAA, or similar ITAD-specific certifications and their audit expectations.
  • Working knowledge of state and local regulatory frameworks (e-waste programs, hazardous waste, data destruction laws) and a proven approach to tracking multi-jurisdiction obligations.
  • Experience preparing for and supporting third-party audits from scoping through findings closure.
  • Proven ability to manage external consultants and hold them accountable to deliverables, timelines, and quality.
  • Strong documentation, organizational, and project management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, capable of translating regulatory language for non-experts.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft 365, and comfort learning compliance management software.
Who you are
  • You take full ownership, when something is your responsibility, it gets done thoroughly and on time.
  • Detail-oriented and systems-minded, equally comfortable with the big picture and the fine print.
  • Calm under audit scrutiny and know how to prepare teams to perform their best when reviewers arrive.
  • Clear communicator across levels, from executive leadership down to frontline operators.
  • Proactive; you spot risks before they become issues and bring solutions, not just problems.
  • Able to juggle multiple regulatory frameworks and deadlines simultaneously without losing the thread.
  • You build trusted relationships with internal teams, consultants, and auditors alike.

If this sounds like you, apply! If you don't meet all of the qualifications but think you could be a good match, we'd still love the chance to review your application.
