Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Retail Operations Specialist based in Netherlands.

This is a high-impact retail operations role responsible for keeping day-to-day fulfillment running accurately, efficiently, and reliably.
You will oversee retail orders, inventory availability, OTIF performance, and logistics coordination across key retail and distribution partners.
The role combines operational ownership with strong analytical thinking, helping identify risks before they become costly disruptions.
You will work closely with internal teams, 3PLs, retailers, and logistics partners to resolve issues and maintain strong service levels.
There is significant scope to improve processes, build scalable SOPs, and introduce smarter tools and AI-enabled workflows.
Success will come from being proactive, organized, data-driven, and comfortable taking ownership in a fast-moving environment.
This is an opportunity to play a central role in scaling a retail operation while continuously improving how the business works.

Accountabilities
  • Own day-to-day retail order fulfillment, proactively monitoring shipments and resolving potential delivery issues before they result in late or incomplete orders.
  • Manage base inventory proactively, identifying potential shortages and communicating risks early enough to prevent order shortfalls.
  • Process new retail orders accurately and within required timelines to maintain consistent product availability and service levels.
  • Conduct inventory reviews ahead of promotions and new product launches to ensure sufficient stock and smooth execution.
  • Track OTIF performance, chargebacks, late shipments, and related operational metrics, using insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage relationships with 3PL and logistics partners, resolving escalations and ensuring agreed service levels and SLAs are consistently met.
  • Develop, maintain, and document retail operations SOPs covering receiving, lot and expiry management, promotions, returns, and other key processes.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement improvements that increase accuracy, speed, scalability, and overall service quality.
  • Evaluate and introduce appropriate technology, automation, and AI tools to streamline workflows and improve retail operations.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external retail and logistics stakeholders to ensure reliable end-to-end fulfillment.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in retail operations, order fulfillment, replenishment, or a related function within a CPG environment.
  • Direct experience working with Walmart and club channels such as Sam's Club or Costco; experience with distributors such as UNFI or KeHE is highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding of EDI order management, lot codes, expiration handling, and retail fulfillment processes.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to use operational data to identify risks, investigate issues, and make informed decisions.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and basic modeling.
  • Experience working with ERP and WMS platforms; familiarity with Fulfil.io is a strong advantage.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with both internal stakeholders and external retail, 3PL, and logistics partners.
  • Comfortable using AI tools such as Claude to improve productivity, analyze problems, and develop more efficient ways of working.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify inefficiencies and implement practical improvements rather than simply maintaining existing processes.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to identify potential issues before they become operational disruptions.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities effectively under pressure.
  • Independent, accountable, and comfortable taking ownership of outcomes without requiring close supervision.
  • Curious and improvement-oriented, with a consistent focus on finding cleaner, faster, and more scalable solutions.
Benefits
  • Base salary range of $90,000-$100,000 plus bonus, depending on experience.
  • Competitive total compensation aligned with market conditions, company stage, industry, and location.
  • Comprehensive benefits package designed to support employee and family well-being.
  • Strong benefits coverage for employees and their families.
  • Generous paid time off.
  • Free product subscriptions.
  • Additional wellness and health-focused perks.
  • Fully remote, high-trust working environment.
  • Opportunities to make a significant operational impact and contribute to business growth.
  • Biannual company off-sites providing opportunities for team connection and collaboration.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and increased responsibility in a scaling organization.
