Overview
Davidson's Strategic Operations Team leads high profile and high impact strategic projects to create and maximize value for the organization and hotel owners. The PowerBI Analyst will support the production of reporting and analytical deliverables across the team's key focus areas:
  • Portfolio Reporting & Analytics
  • Enterprise Business Intelligence Systems
  • Hotel Operations Process Improvement

The Power BI Analyst will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining Power BI dashboards, reports, and semantic models that provide clear and actionable insights across Davidson's hotel portfolio. Candidates should have a working understanding of hotel data sources, integrations, and reporting architecture but will not be responsible for developing enterprise data integrations.
This is a hybrid position that requires a minimum of three days per week in our corporate office in Dunwoody, GA.
Qualifications
  • Work Experience
    • Three or more years of experience in business intelligence, reporting, data analytics, financial analysis, hotel operations analytics, or a related role.
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or another quantitative field preferred
  • Skills:
    • Proven experience designing and developing professional Power BI dashboards and reports.
    • Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, semantic model design, data relationships, and reporting grain.
    • Advanced proficiency in DAX, including measures, filter context, time-intelligence calculations, and reusable calculation logic.
    • Ability to translate business requirements into clear, scalable, and maintainable reporting solutions.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct detailed analyses, tell the story through data, and summarize actionable recommendations.
    • Critical thinker with a passion for identifying and implementing solutions to complex business and reporting problems.
    • Understanding of data-quality controls, reconciliations, validation procedures, and reporting governance.
    • Working knowledge of data integrations, ETL concepts, refresh processes, and enterprise data architecture.
    • Results-oriented with strong attention to detail and the ability to proactively manage multiple competing responsibilities.
    • Team player who is reliable and understands the importance of the role as a key support function to hotel and corporate teams.
    • Excellent written, verbal, visual, and virtual communication skills.
    • Ability to communicate technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
  • SYSTEMS KNOWLEDGE
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Power BI.
    • Advanced proficiency in DAX and Power Query.
    • Experience with semantic models, star schemas, relationships, hierarchies, and measures.
    • Advanced Excel skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
    • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI Service, deployment pipelines, dataflows, or Analysis Services preferred.
    • Familiarity with enterprise data warehouses, cloud data platforms, APIs, and ETL processes preferred.
    • Experience with hospitality reporting systems and hotel performance data preferred.
    • Experience with hotel operations analysis and planning tools such as ProfitSword, CoStar, Hotel Effectiveness, Craftable, or comparable tools is a plus.
