Job description

Company Overview

Our client is a marketing agency that partners with higher education institutions to grow enrollment and improve marketing performance. Their consulting practice works alongside university and college partners to diagnose challenges, evaluate opportunities, and develop strategies that drive measurable outcomes.

Your Role

This is a production role: you own the research, the data, and the drafts that make every engagement possible. On more defined, repeatable engagements, you run the process nearly end to end. On more complex strategic projects, you own the research and synthesis layer and hand over findings organized well enough to become the foundation of the final recommendation.

You\'ll:
  • Conduct market and competitive research across a portfolio of client engagements

  • Audit client and competitor marketing experiences: websites, email, and inquiry flows

  • Pull and analyze data from third-party research platforms to support audience segmentation and market sizing

  • Build first-draft reports and strategic documents from research briefs and defined templates

  • Manage timelines across multiple concurrent engagements, coordinating inputs from internal teams

  • QA every deliverable for accuracy, formatting, and completeness before it reaches leadership

You Bring:
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in marketing, research, or an agency environment

  • Strong written English, comfortable producing structured, professional reports and presentations

  • Experience pulling and working with data from third-party research platforms or databases

  • Experience conducting market research, competitive analysis, and audience segmentation

  • Comfortable synthesizing findings from multiple sources into clear, actionable summaries

  • Highly organized and self-directed, able to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines without close supervision

  • Proficient in Google Slides, PowerPoint, or an equivalent presentation tool

Bonus Points:
  • Experience at a marketing agency or in a client-services environment

  • Experience producing client-facing deliverables: reports, audits, or strategic presentations

  • Comfort working within defined frameworks while still bringing judgment to ambiguous situations

  • Familiarity with higher education marketing

What\'s Offered:
  • Fully remote work, full-time role (40 hours a week), with flexibility inside U.S. time zones

  • Competitive compensation based on experience and scope, paid weekly in USD as a contractor

  • Real ownership over the research and drafts that shape client recommendations, not just execution of someone else\'s outline

  • 20 days of PTO a year, covering holidays, sick time, and regular time off combined, plus a computer and starter equipment provided

  • A team that hands you ambiguous research questions and trusts what you bring back

Interview Process:

1️⃣ Intro call on your research and writing background
2️⃣ Research and writing exercise: structuring a sample brief into an organized draft
3️⃣ Team interview on collaboration and communication style
4️⃣ Final interview with leadership
