What is a remote rendering?

A Remote Rendering job involves processing and visualizing complex 3D graphics on powerful cloud-based servers rather than local devices. This allows for high-quality rendering of models, simulations, and virtual environments without requiring high-end hardware on the user's end. Professionals in this field work on optimizing rendering pipelines, ensuring low-latency streaming, and integrating rendering solutions into applications such as gaming, architecture, and engineering.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in remote rendering?

To excel in a Remote Rendering role, you need expertise in 3D rendering pipelines, computer graphics principles, and networked application development, commonly backed by a degree in computer science, graphics, or a related field. Familiarity with tools like Unreal Engine, Unity, NVIDIA CloudXR, and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is typically required, along with relevant certifications in cloud computing or graphics technologies. Strong problem-solving abilities, clear communication, and the ability to collaborate remotely make candidates stand out in this position. These skills ensure high-quality, real-time graphics experiences are efficiently delivered to users over networks, meeting client and project demands.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in remote rendering?

One of the main challenges in remote rendering is optimizing performance to deliver high-quality graphics with minimal latency, especially when supporting diverse devices and varying network conditions. Professionals often need to troubleshoot hardware compatibility issues and ensure secure, seamless integration with virtual or cloud-based environments. Collaboration is frequently remote, requiring clear communication and coordination with software engineers, designers, and IT teams. Adapting quickly to new rendering technologies and cloud platforms is also a key part of the role, helping teams stay ahead in this rapidly evolving field.

Job description

Role Summary:

You will develop, maintain, and enhance our eCommerce experience using Salesforce Commerce Cloud. You will build front-end and back-end features (site templates, catalog/search, checkout, performance), integrate with inventory / CRM, and optimize for performance and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain custom functionality within Salesforce B2C Commerce Cloud using SFRA, cartridges, controllers, models, scripts, ISML templates, hooks, jobs, and Page Designer components, extending storefront experiences across product discovery, search, product detail, cart, checkout, account management, promotions, and other customer-facing flows.
  • Design and maintain integrations between B2C Commerce and external platforms (Salesforce Core, payment providers, order management systems, inventory services, shipping providers, marketing platforms) using Service Framework and appropriate API patterns, with clear boundaries and proper handling for authentication, timeouts, retries, failures, logging, and operational visibility.
  • Build and maintain scheduled jobs, data feeds, and import/export processes used to synchronize catalog, pricing, inventory, customer, order, and other operational data.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Content and Operations Teams to design and build better UI/UX workflows.
  • Troubleshoot storefront, integration, and environment-specific issues across development, staging, and production using Business Manager, platform logs, service diagnostics, browser tooling, and external API diagnostics, and identify and address performance bottlenecks across server-side execution, remote service calls, caching, rendering, client-side JavaScript, and network behavior.
  • Maintain clean cartridge architecture, clear separation of concerns, and predictable failure behavior. Participate in code reviews and ensure changes are properly tested before release.
  • Support Git-based development workflows, CI/CD, code versions, sandbox and staging environments, deployment validation, production releases, and occasional after-hours support for critical deployments or outages.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4–6 years of hands-on development experience with Salesforce B2C Commerce Cloud, with strong working knowledge of SFRA architecture (cartridges, controllers, middleware, models, scripts, ISML templates, hooks) and core platform capabilities (catalogs, products/variants, price books, promotions, inventory, customers, baskets, checkout, orders).
  • Strong JavaScript skills across server-side SFCC development and browser-based storefront development, plus solid HTML and CSS.
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills, able to isolate issues across storefront code, platform behavior, remote services, and environment configuration, including caching and performance characteristics.
  • Experience designing integrations using Service Framework and REST/SOAP APIs, and working with Business Manager configuration (site preferences, custom attributes, services, jobs, custom objects, code versions).
  • Experience with Git-based source control, code reviews, CI/CD, and multi-environment release workflows.
  • Understanding of secure commerce development practices, particularly authentication, customer data, and PCI-sensitive payment/checkout functionality.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have:

  • Salesforce Certified B2C Commerce Developer certification.
  • Experience integrating B2C Commerce with Salesforce Core, Order Management, Marketing Cloud, or other Salesforce products, including Marketing Cloud Connect.
  • Experience with common commerce integrations: payments, tax, search, shipping, fraud, analytics, tag management, personalization, and consent platforms.
  • Translates marketing and merchandising requirements into technical builds - landing pages, promotions, campaign pages, and personalized content within SFCC.
  • Partners closely with Marketing and learning content teams to implement site personalization, promotional campaigns, and content-driven experiences that support conversion and revenue goals.
  • Understands digital marketing fundamentals (SEO, campaign tracking, UTM parameters, A/B testing) well enough to build pages and features that support marketing initiatives without breaking tracking or attribution.
  • Experience integrating SFCC with marketing/martech platforms (e.g., email service providers, personalization engines, tag managers, analytics tools) to enable seamless customer journeys.
  • Comfortable working within brand and creative guidelines, ensuring marketing-driven site experiences are both on-brand and technically sound.
  • Brings a customer-experience mindset - understands how storefront changes impact funnel performance, engagement, and campaign KPIs, not just code functionality.
