Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health evaluations, crisis interventions, and follow-up care for clients via telehealth platforms.
  • Assess and determine suitable dispositions for patients, ensuring they receive the appropriate level of mental health care.
  • Complete detailed documentation while complying with regulatory requirements and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Coordinate with external entities, including the Department of Corrections, to ensure the timely access to patients' needed resources.
  • Lead group therapy sessions on mental health observation units and provide psychoeducation to clients as assigned.
  • Engage in regular clinical supervision with a Clinical Supervisor to enhance professional development and ensure quality care.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences to discuss patient treatment plans and progress.
  • Support the implementation of psychological testing when required and mentor interns or students under supervision.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Mental Health Counselor at Unity Point, you will work primarily with a diverse patient population dealing with a wide range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral disorders. Qualifications

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a valid state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker with R Privilege (LCSW-R) is essential.
Preferred Experience

While a Bachelor’s degree is minimum requirement, candidates with a Master’s degree in a related field and prior experience in a mental health setting are strongly preferred.
