Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Database & Application Administrator provides web server, application server, and database administration across NAVSUP's approved reference technologies in support of the Department of the Navy. This role is responsible for sustaining Oracle Fusion Middleware software stacks and Microsoft Windows technologies including IIS, SQL Server, and Active Directory; administering databases and application services across AWS RDS, Oracle HTTP Server, WebLogic, Oracle Databases, Apache, Tomcat, and Red Hat platforms; and executing Mission Owner onboarding workloads as requirements are authorized. Work is performed remotely from within the United States. This position requires an active Top Secret clearance, privileged system access, and an IT-I security designation.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide web server, application server, and database administration services using approved NAVSUP reference technologies, including AWS Relational Database Services (RDS), Oracle HTTP Server, WebLogic, Oracle Databases, Microsoft IIS, Microsoft SQL Server, Apache, Tomcat, and Red Hat
  • Execute Mission Owner onboarding workloads as requirements are authorized
  • Sustain operations for Oracle Fusion Middleware software stacks
  • Sustain operations for Microsoft Windows technologies, including Internet Information Services (IIS), SQL Server, and Active Directory
  • Execute monthly knowledge transfer and mentoring to NAVSUP BSC Government personnel, and document each event in the Monthly Knowledge Transfer Log


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Active Top Secret clearance
  • IT-I security designation and privileged system access
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II baseline certification: CompTIA Security+ CE, or an approved substitute — CCNA Security with CEs, CCNA Cybersecurity, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, or SSCP. Certification must be current at the contract period start date; there is no grace period
  • Active enrollment and participation in the certification maintenance program
  • Information Assurance Technical Level I training and certification, with certification on the operating system or computing environment maintained
  • Computing environment certification, current no later than six (6) months after start: Oracle Database Server, Red Hat Linux, or equivalent — note that no AWS certification satisfies this requirement for this role
  • Web server, application server, and database administration experience in Oracle and Microsoft toolsets and AWS Relational Database Services, or equivalent certification
  • Five (5) years of experience in web, application, and database administration across Oracle and Microsoft toolsets 
  • Hands-on experience sustaining Oracle Fusion Middleware and Oracle WebLogic in a Federal or DoD environment
  • Ability to work remotely from a U.S. location and to complete DoD onboarding, security, and mandatory annual training requirements on schedule
  • Preferred: prior NAVSUP or Department of the Navy experience; experience migrating on-premise Oracle and SQL Server workloads to AWS RDS
