As a Licensed Mental Health Therapist, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough assessments and screenings to evaluate clients' substance abuse history, mental health status, and personal goals.
• Developing and implementing customized treatment plans that address both addiction issues and any co-occurring mental health challenges.
• Facilitating engaging individual and group therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing.
• Collaborating effectively with a diverse treatment team to ensure a comprehensive approach to client care.
• Providing education and supportive resources to clients' families, encouraging their involvement in the recovery process.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation in compliance with all regulatory standards.

Your work will primarily focus on adults recovering from addiction, including individuals facing co-occurring disorders. Many clients may have experienced trauma, stress, or other psychological challenges alongside their substance use. As a therapist, you will adapt your approach to meet the unique needs of each client while fostering a therapeutic alliance to support their recovery journey.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A valid mental health license (LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R) in the state of New York.
• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related mental health field.
• Demonstrated expertise in addiction counseling and a solid understanding of co-occurring disorders.
• Strong therapeutic and counseling skills, with the ability to motivate and empower clients.
• Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities, complemented by strong teamwork skills.
