What you will do:

The Outside Sales Representative - Rebar is responsible for driving profitable sales growth by developing new business opportunities and maintaining strong customer relationships within the reinforcing steel and construction market. This role promotes reinforcing steel products, fabricated rebar solutions, and related construction services while serving as a trusted advisor to contractors, builders, engineers, and project teams. Working closely with Estimating, Project Management, Production, and Operations, the Outside Sales Representative - Rebar helps ensure customer projects are delivered accurately, on schedule, and in accordance with project requirements.

  • Base Pay plus Commission
  • Weekly Pay
  • Hybrid - (Remote and Office)
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7am to 4pm
  • Weekends as needed

Business Development

  • Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities within the reinforcing steel and construction markets
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with contractors, builders, developers, engineers, project managers, and procurement professionals
  • Develop and execute territory sales plans to achieve revenue, margin, and customer growth objectives
  • Generate new customer accounts through networking, referrals, cold calling, and industry events
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and manage opportunities throughout the complete sales cycle
  • Meet or exceed established sales goals, revenue targets, and key performance indicators

Customer Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts
  • Conduct regular customer visits, project meetings, and jobsite evaluations
  • Understand customer project requirements and recommend reinforcing steel products and fabrication solutions
  • Build trusted relationships through responsive communication and exceptional customer service
  • Resolve customer concerns by coordinating with internal departments to deliver timely solutions

Sales & Estimating Support

  • Prepare and present quotations, pricing, product recommendations, and sales proposals
  • Collaborate with Estimating teams to develop accurate project pricing and quotations
  • Review construction plans, specifications, and project requirements to support estimating and sales efforts
  • Assist customers with product selection, reinforcing steel solutions, and project planning
  • Negotiate pricing and contract terms within company guidelines

Project Coordination

  • Coordinate closely with Production, Fabrication, Estimating, Project Management, Shipping, and Operations teams to ensure successful project execution
  • Monitor project progress from quotation through fabrication, delivery, and project completion
  • Communicate project updates, schedule changes, and customer requirements internally
  • Support timely delivery of fabricated reinforcing steel and related products
  • Assist in resolving project-related issues that may impact customer satisfaction

Market Development

  • Maintain current knowledge of reinforcing steel products, fabrication services, construction methods, and industry standards
  • Monitor market trends, pricing, competitive activity, and emerging business opportunities
  • Promote company products, fabrication capabilities, and value-added services
  • Participate in trade shows, customer events, and industry association meetings
  • Continuously expand technical product knowledge through company and manufacturer training
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

  • Knowledge of reinforcing steel products, fabrication processes, or commercial construction is preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, or willingness to learn
  • Experience preparing quotations and coordinating customer projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, ERP software, and mobile sales tools
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout an assigned sales territory
  • Primarily field-based with frequent travel throughout an assigned sales territory
  • Regular visits to customer offices, fabrication facilities, warehouses, and active construction jobsites
  • Frequent interaction with contractors, builders, engineers, project managers, and internal operations teams
  • Ability to safely navigate active construction sites while wearing required PPE
  • Occasional lifting of product samples, plans, or marketing materials up to 25 pounds
  • Flexibility to work extended hours or attend customer meetings and industry events as business needs require
