Location - Miami, Florida

These MetroTechs/ Data Center Technicians usually visit different data center to troubleshoot, fix the and install the hardware so its onsite that way and not remote.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES

The following “Services” shall be performed by the Metro Techs:

● Support data center operations and IT systems, network services, business critical processes and procedures to support the delivery of customer products and services;

● Provide technical, operational and administrative support, including as it relates to colocation, connectivity, server hardware and network products and services;

● Support internal networks, IT infrastructure, computers, electronics, and telephone systems;

● Coordinate the ordering and physical installation and turn up of cross-connects with partners

● Perform basic network configuration and verification activities on network devices like routers and switches

● Perform software/firmware upgrades on network equipment

● Maintain hardware and circuit inventory record accuracy in DCIM tools during deployment activities

● Plan and execute network deployments;

● Install and deploy IT and network hardware;

● Make and run patch cables as well as verify testing cable paths;

● Oversee access to, and work within, the Cloudflare facilities, including work related to structured cable installation, circuit delivery, and equipment installations;

● Support maintenance of infrastructure, network equipment, and network services, including but not limited to break-fix work;

● Perform Data Center hardware and inventory and circuit audits;

● Process incoming shipment, label packages, and maintaining designated storage;

● Maintain/Uphold the cleanliness within the cage/rack

● Help manage tickets from end to end;

● Travel to nearby cities; and

● Assist with capacity and power audits.

METRO TECH EXPECTATIONS

The Metro Techs performing the Services must satisfy the following requirements:

● Have knowledge of and be familiar with:

o cable management;

o computer components and basic troubleshooting (A+ and N+ certifications);

o Linux;

o Cisco/Juniper/Arista/Infinera/Ciena Hardware and OS; and

o Data Center facilities and environments.

● Have at least 3-4 years of remote hand working experience;

● Be able to perform administrative work well, without supervision;

● Be able to perform the Services independently, without supervision;

● Have experience stacking and racking servers to a battery or other power source;

● Be able to work on multiple concurrent projects while meeting deadlines and ensuring up-time; and

● Be able to lead projects and work autonomously on servers, routers, and switches.

● Be proficient with DCIM tools such as Netbox and ticketing systems such as JIRA.

● Able to perform basic network configuration and troubleshooting of network devices.

● Able to perform basic server diagnostics and troubleshooting.

It is preferred, but not required, that the Metro Techs:

● be IITL and CCNA certified;

● be able to lift 55lbs (25kg) servers/network equipment;

● be organized and excellent with documentation;

● have good communication skills; and

● have access to a car and be able to drive between sites in the same metro area if needed (hard requirement).

● have experience planning and executing network deployments.
