Senior Energy Portfolio Analyst

Job type: Full-Time, direct-hire, hybrid onsite

Schedule: 4X10 schedule, Monday through Thursday (2 days on site, 2 days remote)

Overview

The Senior Energy Portfolio Analyst is responsible for performing complex analytical work to support energy portfolio strategy and planning. This position focuses on building and refining models used to guide resource planning, procurement strategies, and compliance efforts. The role plays a key part in ensuring a balanced energy portfolio that meets reliability, cost, and sustainability objectives while supporting long-term planning and risk mitigation.


Core Responsibilities

  • Design, update, and manage long-range analytical models used to assess portfolio performance, including cost, reliability, and risk considerations across generation resources.
  • Conduct analysis of potential energy resources, including renewables, storage solutions, demand-side programs, and market-based options.
  • Support portfolio risk assessment through forecasting and scenario modeling to inform long-term planning initiatives.
  • Partner with internal teams such as finance, pricing, and operations to ensure alignment between analytical insights and business objectives.
  • Provide data-driven insights to support commercial activities and market participation within defined risk guidelines.
  • Maintain clear and organized documentation of modeling approaches, assumptions, and outputs to support transparency and auditability.
  • Improve and standardize analytical processes, tools, and workflows to enhance consistency and efficiency.
  • Create reports, dashboards, and visual tools to communicate key findings related to performance, forecasts, and risk exposure.
  • Present analytical results and recommendations to stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.
  • Stay aligned with applicable regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with industry modeling or simulation platforms.
  • Experience working with programming or data tools such as Python, R, SQL, or similar.
