  • Occasional travel to Atlanta headquarters and Salt Lake City assembly facility required (approximately 1–2 times per month)

Compensation

  • Salary starting at $125,000+ annually, based on experience and qualifications
  • Additional 25% bonus opportunity

Position Summary

The Transformer Engineer (Solid State) role is a senior-level electrical engineering position focused on advancing solid-state transformer technology and power distribution solutions for utility, renewable energy, industrial, and data center projects. This role combines technical leadership, product development, customer support, and project coordination to deliver customized electrical infrastructure solutions. The position works closely with engineering, manufacturing, and sales teams to support complex projects while driving innovation, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.

Job Function

  • Lead one or more solid-state transformer product lines and support engineering project execution
  • Develop quotations, schematics, wiring diagrams, plans, sections, details, and bill of materials (BOM) packages
  • Review specifications, testing requirements, lead times, and documentation standards
  • Manage the customer experience from proposal through production and delivery
  • Coordinate project requirements with engineering, manufacturing, scheduling, and sales teams
  • Provide technical support regarding transformer applications, specifications, and system integration
  • Ensure compliance with ANSI, IEEE, CSA, and NEMA standards
  • Participate in customer meetings and facility tours
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product development, standardization, quoting, and order management
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and project managers to drive schedules and project success
  • Evaluate design alternatives and provide solutions to constructability and design challenges

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred, with emphasis in power systems
  • Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline or business field considered with relevant technical experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in product management, technical sales, project coordination, customer support, or engineered products
  • Experience with power distribution systems and transformer applications required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus

Qualifications

  • Expert knowledge of electrical engineering principles, standards, and codes
  • Strong understanding of solid-state transformers and power distribution systems
  • Proven leadership ability in remote, hybrid, or office environments
  • Strong project coordination and schedule management skills
  • Ability to interpret and apply engineering standards and procedures to complex projects
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and client interaction skills
  • Ability to resolve technical challenges in high-pressure situations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • ERP or SAP experience preferred
  • Intermediate CAD proficiency required
