What is a remote quantum analyst?

A Remote Quantum Analyst is a professional who works off-site to analyze data, develop algorithms, and solve problems using quantum computing technologies. Their work often involves collaborating with research teams, running simulations, and leveraging quantum software platforms to address complex computational challenges. Remote Quantum Analysts typically have backgrounds in physics, mathematics, or computer science, and are skilled in programming languages relevant to quantum computing, such as Qiskit or Cirq. By working remotely, they can contribute to projects and research for organizations regardless of geographic location. This role is increasingly important as more companies explore the potential of quantum computing for various industries.

What are some common challenges faced by remote quantum analysts when collaborating with cross-functional teams?

Remote Quantum Analysts often work with interdisciplinary teams that may include physicists, software engineers, and data scientists. One common challenge is bridging the knowledge gap between quantum computing concepts and classical computing backgrounds, which can lead to miscommunication or project delays. Effective collaboration requires clear communication, regular virtual meetings, and the ability to translate complex quantum theories into actionable insights for non-experts. Building strong documentation practices and leveraging collaborative tools can help ensure smooth workflow and successful project outcomes.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote quantum analyst, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Quantum Analyst, you need a solid background in quantum mechanics, mathematics, and computer science, typically supported by a relevant degree such as physics, engineering, or computer science. Familiarity with quantum programming languages (like Qiskit or Cirq), quantum computing platforms, and possibly certifications in quantum technologies is highly beneficial. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and effective remote communication skills help you excel in collaborative and research-driven environments. These competencies are essential for contributing to cutting-edge quantum projects, interpreting complex data, and ensuring effective teamwork from a remote setting.

Our Culture
Quantum Metric's number one objective is happy people, diverse and inclusive culture. We're passionate about empowering our people to become the best version of themselves, offering coaching and training programs designed to accelerate their career in whatever direction they choose.
As a remote-first company, we understand the importance of building an engaged, diverse, and fun place to work. We hold regular company-wide events, seasonal challenges, and Quantum Metric sponsored local outings when Zoom becomes too much. We also have a number of Employee Resource Groups that provide spaces to discuss, share, and reflect on topics that impact us both inside and outside of work - from being new to SaaS or navigating it as a first-time parent, to overcoming the barriers faced as Black, Hispanic, Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, LGBTQIA or other underrepresented backgrounds.
We are also passionate about the connections we build with our customers. You'll not only work with some of the world's most recognized brands, but build lasting relationships.
At Quantum Metric we value all types of experience and education and don't expect you to meet every qualification for this position. We are most interested in the unique perspective you can bring and your ability to uphold our values of passion, persistence, and integrity.

The Industry Leader, BFSI will serve as the "inside-out" strategist responsible for transforming QM from a horizontal tool into a recognized vertical powerhouse within the world's largest financial institutions. They will be expected to know the competitive landscape, help drive messaging and associated content, support high-value cross-functional initiatives, and be actively involved in and accountable for the revenue performance of this industry.

  • Develop and implement product positioning, messaging, and strategies to pursue aggressive growth goals across Retail Banking, Wealth Management, and related BFSI sub-verticals
  • Act as executive sponsor on high-priority, in-flight deals - refining narratives and overcoming late-stage procurement and security audit hurdles
  • Define and own the "Win-Against" competitive strategy to displace incumbents by demonstrating superior ROI in fraud detection, call deflection, and digital experience
  • Develop repeatable BFSI sales playbooks and enablement materials that increase sales velocity and are adopted broadly across the revenue organization
  • Work closely with Product to ensure QM's Agentic AI solutions meet the rigorous security, compliance, and regulatory standards of the financial services industry
  • Establish QM as a top-tier recognized solution in the BFSI space through analyst engagement (Gartner, Forrester), keynote participation, and industry roundtables
  • Develop thought leadership content including practitioner articles, joint publications, podcasts, and conference presentations
  • Leverage your executive network to facilitate introductions to C-Suite stakeholders including CIOs, CDOs, and heads of Risk and Digital

Requirements
  • Extensive experience in the Banking & Financial Services industry, ideally with a background as a digital or technology leader at a major financial institution
  • Preferred: SaaS or B2B technology experience with a focus on creating, analyzing, and optimizing digital experiences for consumers
  • Deep familiarity with navigating bank procurement processes, security audits, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Proven ability to translate complex digital signals into tangible Risk, Fraud, and Revenue outcomes that resonate with financial services executives
  • A strong knowledge of enterprise sales processes and demonstrated ability to influence deals without direct ownership
  • A clear point of view on how to win in the BFSI space, including an understanding of the roles and decision-making dynamics around digital experience investment
  • Demonstrated ability to persuasively communicate complex concepts at the highest levels of an organization
  • Track record of influencing cross-functional teams - Product, Marketing, and Sales - without direct reporting lines
  • Travel: Up to 25%
