How much do senior quantum analyst jobs pay per year?

As of Aug 1, 2026, the average yearly pay for senior quantum analyst in the United States is $102,527.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $88,000.00 and $116,500.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What jobs pay 500,000 a year in the US?

Senior Quantum Analysts in specialized fields such as quantum computing or research can reach or exceed a $500,000 annual salary, especially with extensive experience, advanced degrees, and working in high-demand industries like technology or finance. Executive roles in tech companies or hedge funds may also offer compensation at this level, often including bonuses and stock options.

How much does a senior quant analyst make?

A senior quantitative analyst typically earns between $100,000 and $200,000 annually, with total compensation often including bonuses and profit sharing. Salaries vary based on experience, location, industry, and the complexity of models used, with expertise in programming languages like Python or C++ and advanced degrees often required.

What jobs make $1,000,000 a year?

Senior Quantum Analysts typically do not earn $1,000,000 annually; such high salaries are usually found in executive roles, successful entrepreneurs, or highly specialized fields like hedge fund managers or top-tier tech executives. In rare cases, senior professionals with extensive experience, unique skills, and leadership responsibilities in high-growth industries can reach or exceed this level, often supplemented by bonuses and stock options.

Is 40 too old to become a quant?

Age is not a strict barrier to becoming a senior quantum analyst or a quant, as the field values skills, experience, and quantitative expertise. Many professionals transition into quantitative roles later in their careers by acquiring relevant degrees, certifications, and programming skills in tools like Python or R.

Job description

At Atom Computing, we build quantum computers using arrays of optically trapped neutral atoms that will empower customers to achieve unprecedented computational breakthroughs. Join a world-class team of scientists, engineers, and business professionals to advance the state-of-the-art in quantum computing.

We are seeking a Senior Quantum Application Engineer to contribute to the realization of practical fault-tolerant quantum computing. Reporting to the Quantum Error Correction Manager, you will work alongside our Quantum Error Correction, Software, and Compilation teams to drive the development of scalable neutral-atom quantum computers.

Applications will be considered for our Berkeley, CA or Boulder, CO office.

Job Responsibilities
  • Evaluating resources required to run fault-tolerant algorithms on neutral atom hardware
  • Contributing to the development of strategies for optimizing and running quantum algorithms
  • Researching ways to improve, extend, or generalize quantum algorithms
  • Working to implement near-term demonstrations of fault-tolerant algorithms
Experience & Education
  • PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience with the theory of fault-tolerant quantum computation.
Qualifications
  • Strong background in quantum algorithms, potentially including applications to cryptography, chemistry, materials physics, etc.
  • Ability to translate abstract concepts into demonstrations running on actual quantum computing hardware.
  • Temperamentally suited to work at a fast-growing startup: self-motivated, humble, driven, collaborative, and having a high tolerance for ambiguity and uncertainty.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse team of experimental physicists, hardware, and software engineers.
  • Familiarity with Python and Git software version control

Atom Computing provides a wide variety of perks and benefits, including fully paid medical, dental, and vision insurance for our employees and their dependents. Additionally, unlimited paid time off, 401K company matching, short- and long-term disability, FSA, dependent care benefits, and life insurance.  We also offer drinks, snacks, and catered team lunches in our offices, every day!

The base salary range for this position is between $185,000 - $210,000, commensurate with experience. In addition to salary, we offer an annual bonus and equity in the company.

We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
