This position can be located at any Huntington Corporate Office.

Summary:

The Quality Review Specialist will be responsible for the review work associated with the segment's quality assurance program including pre-closing process assurance and post-closing quality reviews. All aspects of Business Credit Underwriting, due diligence, SBA, and loan closing are subject to quality assurance. The ongoing process design, reporting, adherence to regulation and compliance, direction of policy, and delivery of credit products are influenced by the measurement and results of the QR program. The Quality Specialist is expected to be a subject matter expert in the process that they are reviewing and provide oversite feedback to the segment's adherence to their policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review QR workflow queue at the deal level.
  • Analyze the in-process (pre close) or post-closing adherence to policy, procedure, and process.
  • Using standard process checklist, review each item in the required QR taxonomy. Note any variations or issues. Mitigate approval of the variation or research with segment team leaders.
  • Rate the variance as a severity 1,2, or 3 based on the defined risk rating system.
  • Record all rating detail in centralized process system for aggregation of segment producer scoring.
  • Produce segment QR reporting.
  • Aggregate information found within the QR assurance process to provide feedback on training opportunities, risk gaps that are impacting quality that should be updated in policy, procedure or process, and drive the business model forward to create a better customer experience while reducing overall program risk.
  • Adherence to the Quality assurance program metrics including quality, production, and SLA. Colleagues are committing to meeting the goals of the QR program by reviewing 10% pre-close, 100% post close populations within agreed upon SLA's and meeting the Segment Risk Control Tests of the QR Assurance program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent banking industry experience in credit /lending or complimentary quality assurance space

  • 5+ years of SBA experience in the banking industry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Applicants that are subject matter experts in commercial lending which generally includes the areas of underwriting, loan documentation, loan closing, loan funding, and SBA eligibility as applicable. 
  • Experience with SBA or other government guaranteed loan programs
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Experience with Quality Review/Control process design and/or regulatory reporting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly and logically document loan decisions
  • PC and Internet proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong Leadership skills, colleague will need to be a self-starter and manage their day well
