We are looking for a VDC Coordinator to lead project-level BIM/VDC coordination, support model-based construction planning, and help connect coordinated models to field installation and fabrication workflows. This role supports project teams by managing BIM coordination activities, coordinating model updates, tracking open issues, supporting clash resolution, and helping ensure project deliverables are accurate, organized, and ready for construction. Duties:
BIM Coordination
  • Lead discipline-specific BIM coordination efforts for assigned projects.
  • Oversee the creation, management, and coordination of 3D BIM Models/Revit files for mechanical systems (HVAC, Plumbing, Mechanical Piping, etc.)
  • Perform clash detection and assist with conflict resolution.
  • Participate in BIM coordination meetings with project teams and trade partners.
  • Track coordination issues and support timely resolution.
  • Review model accuracy throughout project execution.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other trades to optimize design.
Project Execution Support
  • Support project teams through model-based planning and constructability reviews.
  • Coordinate model updates with project schedules and procurement activities.
  • Assist project managers and superintendents in identifying installation constraints.
  • Support prefabrication and modular construction through accurate model development.
Model Management
  • Maintain project model organization and file structure standards.
  • Manage model exchanges among project stakeholders.
  • Verify proper model setup, coordinates, levels, project standards, and model naming conventions.
  • Ensure compliance with BIM Execution Plans and company standards.
  • Manage model publishing and cloud collaboration platforms.
Field Support & Documentation
  • Support field teams with model navigation and interpretation.
  • Assist with point layout workflows and field verification activities when required.
  • Prepare coordination reports, clash reports, issue logs, and action item tracking.
  • Support RFI development when model conflicts identify design concerns.
  • Communicate project coordination status to project leadership.
Quality Assurance / Quality Control
  • Review models for constructability, completeness, and accuracy.
  • Verify coordination milestones are achieved.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet company and client standards.
Skills & Experience:
  • Experience with BIM/VDC coordination in the construction industry.
  • Experience coordinating MEP Systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of Revit and Navisworks.
  • Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360 or similar cloud collaboration platforms.
  • Ability to read and understand engineered drawings and P&IDS, models, specifications, coordination documents and material and equipment product data.
  • Knowledge of fabrication, detailing, and construction workflows.
  • Experience with Fabrication CADmep, M-Suite, Bluebeam, Revizto, AutoCAD, Autodesk ReCap, point layout, point cloud
Requirements:
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, Mechanical Engineering, BIM Technology, or 3 years related mechanical and plumbing field experience preferred.
  • 3-7 years of BIM/VDC experience in construction preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills such as file management and data transfer.
  • Ability to work with project managers, field leadership, foremen, detailers, designers, fabrication teams, and trade partners.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organization, planning, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Valid driver license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
Schedule:
  • Monday – Friday, Full-Time
  • Typical hours: 7:00am - 4:30pm EST
  • Ability to work in office and construction site environments as required.
