Job description

Job Title: Electrical Estimator Location: Spartanburg, SC Type: Direct Hire Work Model: Hybrid – onsite and remote Responsibilities

  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project documentation to prepare accurate cost and labor estimates.
  • Support the Estimating Manager and Project Managers by contributing to bid development, cost tracking, and proposal preparation.
  • Review plans, drawings, and specifications to understand project scope.
  • Attend site visits to review project scopes, confirm customer requirements, and gather required information to develop estimates.
  • Solicit and evaluate bids from vendors and subcontractors.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates using estimation software and company standards.
  • Assist in defining scope and methods of work for proposals.
  • Support the preparation and submission of competitive bid packages.
  • Accurately price change orders and track project costs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain bid schedules and respond to ‘Invitations to Bid’.
  • Collaborate with engineering, field, and office personnel to gather necessary information.
  • Support continuous improvement of estimating practices and project controls.
  • Enable effective internal and external communication across departments.
  • Participate in value engineering and risk assessment discussions.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience estimating projects for industrial construction and/or industrial machinery installation.
  • Experience estimating mechanical and electrical engineering projects, especially production equipment installations.
  • Experience performing electrical commodity takeoffs including cable tray, conduit, cable pulls/lengths, and wire terminations.
  • Experience estimating installation of industrial electrical equipment including switchgear, motor control centers, control panels, electrical distribution panels, transformers, lighting, UPS systems, etc.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and estimation software.
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards and health & safety regulations.
  • Strong financial skills including cost analysis and budgeting.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
  • Project Management training or certification is a plus.
  • Construction cost estimating; estimating large projects is a plus.
  • Knowledge of industrial relocation services, and materials.
  • Regulatory compliance awareness.
