What You'll Do
Reporting to the Director, HSEQ, the Quality Manager is responsible for the overall development, management, coordination, and delivery of the Quality Management System for the company's US portfolio of construction projects. The Quality Manager, US is accountable for the planning and drafting of projects' quality system requirements (including Inspection and test Plans) and implementation of projects' quality control plans, while ensuring that the Rising Edge's quality management system is ISO 9001 compliant. This role is responsible to for the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle of the QMS and will work with the Quality Manager, Canada on improvements as required. The Quality Manager is a working manager position and will provide technical support to the Field Quality Inspectors for all aspects of construction and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
  • Determine annual objectives through quarterly management SWOT analysis and continuously review and maintain the department's core documents for improvement and risk mitigation in quality assurance and control
  • Be the main point of contact for Clients, Project Managers and Subcontractors in the field and support Quality Inspectors and Field Engineers.
  • Review bids for projects and provide support for estimates. Prepare all quality related aspects of projects for execution and completion including advancement into new geographic areas.
  • Participate in and support Inspectors to conduct internal and external site audits and conduct frequent jobsite inspections based on compliance with corporate, federal, and state policies, practices, and procedures
  • Ensure compliance of non-conformance reporting (NCR) process by managing and monitoring NCR database and ensure that proper records and resolutions have been submitted
  • Function as a liaison with client's auditors and assume responsibility for ensuring corrective actions with clients' specifications. Conduct and/or manage Inspectors' root cause analysis and assist project personnel with implementation of corrective actions
  • Continually develop and review inspection and test procedures
  • Ensure QMS processes are developed, maintained, and followed, as well as the development of technical and quality requirement for external providers
  • Manage all QA/QC field inspectors and provide site leadership in all areas of quality management systems
  • Work closely with the Canadian Quality Manager to align systems and processes across the company under one QMS

Additional Information
  • This position is designated as safety-sensitive making employment contingent upon the successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, as well as criminal and general background checks.
  • Typical schedule rotation is Monday to Friday; however certain projects may require matching project schedule and can include occasional weekend work.
  • Standard workdays are 8 hours
  • Expected travel for this position is 25-50% throughout the US. Desired location is within 1 hour of a major US airport.

Requirements
What We're Looking For
  • Experience in Risk identification and management, change management and continuous improvement strongly preferred
  • Must have prior experience in developing and maintaining QMS, product conformity, materials management systems and general knowledge of Project and Construction Management
  • At least 7 years of Quality assurance and Quality control experience, preferably in a construction industry, required
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor Training
  • Having at least 10 years of field experience in High Voltage industry would be an asset
  • Electrical Journeyman Certificate would be an asset
  • Ability to conduct internal audits effectively, gather requirements, results analysis and standards interpretation considered an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills required
  • Proficient in MS SharePoint, MS Word, and MS Excel
  • Bluebeam and internal data systems (procore, sitedocs etc) are an asset
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • Ability to interpret contracts
