The selected candidate will develop and support healthcare interoperability solutions using InterSystems IRIS, HealthShare, ObjectScript, FHIR, HL7, and REST-based services. This is a hands-on development role focused on application development, integration, troubleshooting, and production support.

The developer will work in a collaborative Agile/SAFe environment alongside architects, QA, and DevOps teams, contributing to code reviews, performance optimization, CI/CD processes, and the ongoing reliability of enterprise HealthShare applications.

The candidate must reside within the continental US.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain HealthShare productions, including business services, business processes, operations, custom classes, APIs, and interoperability components.
  • Configure, troubleshoot, and perform runtime analysis using the IRIS/HealthShare Management Portal.
  • Build, maintain, and troubleshoot FHIR, HL7 v2, and REST-based healthcare integrations, including message flows, data validation, and production errors.
  • Participate in code reviews, performance tuning, refactoring, technical documentation, and the development of coding best practices.
  • Collaborate with architects, QA, and DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines, application deployments, OAuth, SSO, and application-level security configurations.
  • Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience, with 3-5 years of professional software development experience and at least 2 years developing with InterSystems Cache, IRIS, or HealthShare.
  • Strong hands-on ObjectScript development experience, including developing and optimizing custom classes and application components.
  • Strong experience with the IRIS/HealthShare Management Portal, HealthShare productions, and the InterSystems interoperability framework.
  • Experience developing and consuming FHIR APIs, HL7 v2 interfaces, and RESTful web services, including debugging production message flows and application-level issues.
  • Working knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and CI/CD concepts for InterSystems application deployments.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with experience working within Agile or SAFe development teams.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), federal healthcare, or other large-scale healthcare systems.
  • Experience with Jenkins, Git, or automated deployment pipelines for InterSystems applications.
  • InterSystems IRIS, HealthShare, or Cache certification.
