Position Overview:
We are seeking a licensed Psychiatrist to join our team as a Supervising Physician, responsible for overseeing and supporting Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP) in Mississippi and Alabama. This role is critical in ensuring the highest standards of care through supervisory oversight, compliance with state regulations, and effective collaboration with mid-level clinicians.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and Consultation: Provide clinical oversight, guidance, and consultation to PMHNPs in accordance with state-specific regulations and best practices.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to state laws regarding physician supervision requirements, including frequency of chart reviews, consultative sessions, and other supervisory duties as mandated.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance initiatives, reviewing patient charts, treatment plans, and other documentation as needed to maintain high standards of care.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with PMHNPs to address clinical questions, review complex cases, and provide insights to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Availability: Be available for regular check-ins, virtual consultations, and prompt responses to clinical questions as necessary to support the PMHNP team.

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO from an accredited institution, board-certified in Psychiatry.
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in Mississippi and Alabama.
  • Must reside in Mississippi. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory or consulting role overseeing mid-level psychiatric clinicians.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on collaborative, team-based care.
  • Able to maintain regular oversight through remote means, with flexible hours to accommodate consultative duties.
