We are seeking Hmong Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Hmong is a rare language of critical need in immigration and asylum cases, making this role essential to ensuring applicants have equitable access to services.
Responsibilities
  • Provide real-time Hmong ↔ English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and official proceedings.
  • Deliver interpretation with accuracy, impartiality, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in line with USCIS/DHS standards.
  • Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge calls.
  • Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance reviews.
Qualifications
  • Native or near-native fluency in Hmong and English.
  • 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, community, medical, or legal preferred).
  • Familiarity with interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural awareness.
