Job description

Role: GIS Engineering Lead / Enterprise GIS Integration Architect (Ref: 5770)
Location: Remote in Georgia EST
Position Summary:
The GIS Engineering Lead / Enterprise GIS Integration Architect will serve as the technical lead for all geospatial architecture, GIS integration, and enterprise mapping initiatives supporting the Enterprise Data Strategy & Architecture Pilot. This individual will be responsible for ensuring ArcGIS Enterprise is successfully integrated with Salesforce and other enterprise systems, enabling a unified enterprise data model that supports cross-departmental collaboration, analytics, and decision making.
The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, enterprise GIS architecture, Salesforce integration, REST APIs, and geospatial data modeling. This role will work closely with the Enterprise Data Architect, Data Integration Lead, and Project Manager to ensure geospatial data is fully incorporated into the organization's enterprise data strategy and proof-of-concept implementation.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and implementation of the enterprise GIS architecture supporting the pilot solution.
  • Evaluate existing ArcGIS Enterprise environments and recommend improvements for enterprise-wide integration.
  • Design geospatial data models that integrate with business entities including projects, parcels, stakeholders, funding, assets, and operational data.
  • Architect integrations between ArcGIS Enterprise, Salesforce, Azure services, SQL databases, and other enterprise applications.
  • Design and support REST API and web service integrations to enable secure cross-system data exchange.
  • Ensure GIS data is incorporated into the enterprise data warehouse, data lake, or hybrid architecture.
  • Develop recommendations for geospatial governance, metadata standards, spatial data quality, and lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Data Architect to ensure GIS relationships are incorporated into the enterprise conceptual data model.
  • Support development of ETL/ELT processes involving geospatial datasets and Salesforce information.
  • Assist with implementation of the pilot architecture, including GIS-enabled dashboards, mapping services, and automated data pipelines.
  • Provide technical leadership for GIS best practices, system scalability, security, and performance.
  • Participate in technical workshops and present GIS architecture recommendations to both technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Support knowledge transfer and training for ABI staff to ensure long-term sustainability.

Required Experience:
  • Seven (7)+ years designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise GIS solutions.
  • Five (5)+ years of hands-on experience with ArcGIS Enterprise architecture, administration, and enterprise geospatial solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating Salesforce, ArcGIS Enterprise, Azure services, and enterprise data architecture to support cross-functional business operations and enterprise data initiatives.
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise integration solutions utilizing REST APIs, web services, and API-based data exchanges between GIS, CRM, databases, and other enterprise applications.
  • Experience developing enterprise geospatial data models that support business entities, spatial relationships, and cross-system reporting.
  • Experience implementing ETL/ELT processes and data integration pipelines involving ArcGIS, Salesforce, SQL databases, Azure services, and other enterprise systems.
  • Experience with enterprise data architecture including data warehouses, data lakes, hybrid data platforms, metadata management, and data governance.
  • Experience working with Azure technologies such as Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage, Logic Apps, Azure Functions, or similar cloud integration services.
  • Experience with enterprise relational databases including SQL Server, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, or Oracle.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise GIS architecture, geospatial data governance, metadata standards, and spatial data quality management.
  • Ability to communicate technical architecture and integration strategies to executive leadership, business stakeholders, and technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Azure cloud services.
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Logic Apps, Functions, or other cloud integration technologies.
  • Experience integrating GIS with CRM, ERP, asset management, or permitting systems.
  • Familiarity with enterprise data warehouse and data lake architectures.
