Job description

About the Senior Python Engineer position
Victory delivers high-quality software, solutions, and services to clients across various fields, including digital marketing, energy, and nutrition. As a member of the Victory team, you will have the opportunity to work in diverse domains translating their unique challenges to valuable solutions for our clients.
We are seeking a Senior Python Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will create robust and scalable software solutions that our clients can rely on and benefit from for years to come.
Senior Python Engineer responsibilities are:
  • Design and develop high-quality, maintainable code for our serverless applications on AWS
  • Utilize the Serverless Framework to build and deploy microservices that are both efficient and scalable
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
  • Lead architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment, security, and high availability in the cloud
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
  • Address and improve any technical issues
  • Work together with web designers to match visual design intent

Senior Python Engineer requirements are:
  • 5+ years experience developing software solutions with at least 2 years in Python
    • Bonus points if you have full stack experience
  • Significant expertise in designing, developing and consuming RESTful APIs
  • You enjoy designing simple solutions to complex problems.
    • You enjoy communicating your ideas with your team and improving that design to meet the needs of the customer.
  • Elegance and maintainability are key aspects of your design.
  • You are familiar with deploying applications to AWS.
    • Bonus points if you have serverless experience.
  • Collaborate with other skillsets on your team such as Front End Development, DevOps and Design.
  • You place a high value on documentation from that found in the code to process and playbooks found in a wiki.
    • You understand that the software will likely be run and maintained by others and feel a responsibility to them. Even future "you".
  • You are already using Copilot or another AI assistant and understand your role as engineer is evolving.
    • You are keen to evolve and help others to do so.
  • You own your pipelines: build, test, deploy etc.
  • You assume automated testing is required and work to ensure the appropriate levels of coverage for each test type: unit, functional, E2E.
  • Strong organizational skills with a good ability to prioritize tasks
  • Good ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques.
  • BS in computer science or other related area

Why Victory?
  • Victory delivers business value to its clients. It is rare that we build systems at large scale, but our solutions provide high impact to our clients.
  • The diversity of domains and the unique problems they present provide a constant opportunity to learn new things and grow technical skills to meet the need.
  • You have a great deal of autonomy. Our leaders work to enable you to make the most practical decisions for our clients and support both your successes and the learning that comes from inevitable failures.
