Remote Python Developer Graduate information

What is a remote Python developer graduate?

A Remote Python Developer Graduate is an entry-level software developer who specializes in programming with Python and works remotely, often from home or another location outside a traditional office. These graduates typically have recently completed a degree or coursework in computer science or a related field and are beginning their careers in software development. Their responsibilities usually include writing and testing Python code, collaborating with teams online, fixing bugs, and learning new technologies and best practices. Remote work enables them to contribute to projects from anywhere, requiring good communication and self-management skills.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote Python developer graduate?

To thrive as a Remote Python Developer Graduate, you need a solid understanding of Python programming, basic software engineering principles, and ideally a relevant degree or certification. Familiarity with version control systems like Git, development environments such as PyCharm or VS Code, and frameworks like Django or Flask is typically expected. Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and effective written communication are crucial soft skills for remote collaboration. These skills ensure the ability to deliver high-quality code independently, adapt to remote team workflows, and contribute effectively to software projects.

What are the common challenges faced by remote Python developer graduates when starting their careers, and how can they overcome them?

As a Remote Python Developer Graduate, you may encounter challenges such as effective communication across different time zones, managing your workload independently, and bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world coding practices. To overcome these, it’s important to proactively participate in team meetings, regularly seek feedback from mentors, and leverage collaborative tools like version control and project management software. Additionally, dedicating time to continuous learning and real-world coding exercises can help you quickly adapt to industry standards and expectations.

Job description

Agentic Software Engineer III (Remote)

arrivia Remote (US) Full-time

About arrivia

arrivia specializes in making brands better through the power of travel. The company is a merger of three powerhouse brands, ICE, SOR Technology, and WMPH Vacations, with offices on both coasts of the US and around the world. arrivia is focused on building a customer-first culture, fueled by the best travel experiences for members at every point in their journey. Core values: Stay Curious, Keep it Real, Own it, Win Together.

About the Role

As an Agentic Software Engineer III, you are an experienced, product-minded, customer-focused, full-stack engineer who designs, builds, and ships complex features and subsystems using AI coding agents as core development tools. Working under general direction with significant autonomy, you own technical delivery end to end, from design through production, and lead technical efforts within your team, using tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot to multiply your impact.

You make complex decisions on system design and cross-component integration, balancing delivery speed, scalability, and long-term maintainability, with results reviewed at the outcome level rather than task by task. You actively mentor junior engineers, contribute to architectural decisions, and drive quality standards within your team.

This role is remote within the United States. arrivia is currently able to hire in the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.

What You'll Do
  • Design, develop, and deliver complex features and services as a key contributor on a full-stack product development team
  • Write clean, testable, peer-reviewed, and optimized high-performance code, whether authored manually or collaboratively with AI agents
  • Review and validate AI-generated code for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability, helping set quality standards within the team
  • Build and improve internal agentic workflows that automate repetitive engineering tasks such as testing, documentation, and code review triage
  • Build and configure Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations that connect AI agents to internal tools, data sources, and platform services
  • Revitalize services and architectures that have outlasted their original implementations through refactoring, migration, and cloud-native design patterns
  • Safeguard the privacy, security, and trust of members' sensitive data in partnership with Risk and Security teams
  • Participate in establishing and meeting backend and system SLOs to protect the platform through future growth
  • Mentor junior engineers on effective development practices, code quality, and productive use of AI-assisted development tools
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 5 to 8 years of full-stack development experience building web applications and services
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience using AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) in professional development workflows
  • Strong proficiency in two or more of TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, or C#/.NET
  • Deep experience with a modern frontend framework: React, Next.js, Vue, or Angular
  • Experience architecting and deploying applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Working knowledge of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and experience configuring MCP servers
  • Working knowledge of Azure AI Foundry, RAG, LangChain, and graph-based data technologies (GraphRAG, GraphDB)
  • Experience with real-time streaming or distributed messaging platforms such as Redis, Kafka, or RabbitMQ
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Agile software delivery experience
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this role is $137,000-$234,000 annually, based on Provn's market benchmarking. Benefits include access to arrivia's private travel marketplace with deeply discounted rates on cruises, resorts, and hotels, robust medical, dental, and vision insurance, and 401(k) with company matching, inside a remote-friendly culture that spans US and international time zones.

How to Apply

To apply for this role, you must create an account on provn.co and submit all required application artifacts. Resume only applications may be considered, but candidates who complete a full application are reviewed with priority.

How hiring works here: Referrals are king for getting an interview. But what if you don't have a referral? Applying with Provn is designed to help you get more interviews. Instead of sending a cold resume into an ATS and waiting, you will complete a challenge built by arrivia and submit a short video walking through your approach. No time limit. No timers. No restrictions on AI usage. Show how you build with AI.

  • You show how you actually build and ship with coding agents, instead of hoping a resume communicates your skill clearly.
  • Your judgment with AI becomes visible, which no "proficient with AI coding agents" resume bullet can prove.
  • One challenge puts you in front of the engineering team, scored on the work. Priority without a referral!

The hiring manager reviews every completed submission, and strongest candidates go straight to an interview round. No referral needed. Performance over pedigree. Proof over polish.
