The pay range is $73,000.00 - $132,000.00

A role in Product Safety and Quality Assurance (PSQA) means partnering with various cross functional teams, with the Global team managing factory level activities and relationships for their respective regions. PSQA develops processes and requirements to validate stakeholder expectations are being met, including our Guests, Regulators, Industry, Internal Partners and others.

As a Senior Production Engineer, you will ensure vendors deliver safe and quality owned brand products through your knowledge of product compliance, quality & regulatory requirements. Being responsible for proactive and preventive quality assurance and control, delivering end-to-end results through different programs.

One of your main responsibilities will be to technically assess and resolve product and inspection issues and support continuous improvement of manufacturing processes. You will conduct calibration activities on process or product with third parties and BPQI (Business Partner Quality Inspector), determine the critical processes to quality and controls to prevent or mitigate potential issues/risks and support escalation, disposition and CAPA reviews for continuous improvement while understanding the guests' expectations.

You will have the ability to review data and conduct statistical analysis, leveraging data to identify opportunities for calibration, continuous improvement and problem solving. To drive cost of poor-quality reduction with a focus on greater efficiency and right first-time quality.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Validate factories operate with sound quality processes and manufacturing capabilities before producing for Target.

  • Partner to ensure program expectations and quality assurance requirements are understood prior to production starting.

  • Validate that all products meet safety and regulatory requirements and Target performance standards.

  • Elevate factory performance through technical support to drive for continuous improvement of manufacturing and quality processes.

  • Actively influence decision-making and address business needs through active engagement with partners.

About you:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or 8+ years' experience in consumer products

  • Background in consumer product manufacturing, quality and technical/engineering perspective

  • Minimum 5 experience in consumer product industry (compliance/manufacturing, Quality management, raw material and product)

  • Knowledge of quality tools RCA/Fishbone/Lean/Six Sigma/Industrial Engineering Experienced in line setup

  • Effective communication skills and strong interpersonal skills

  • Collaborative focus and ability to work successfully across functional areas and team work

  • Language: fluent in English and local language

  • Software knowledge; data & analytics and statistical , including Microsoft windows and Office applications

  • Availability to travel 80% of time

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Lean Six Sigma certification, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, Certified Quality Engineer

  • Experience with production quality oversight

  • Experience in retail purchasing operations or support (Sourcing, procurement, QA, development, etc.)

This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid (known internally at Target as "Flex for Your Day") work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Remote work arrangement means the team member worksfull-time from home oran alternatelocation that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at a Target location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role may be performed either remote or onsite at a Target location depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
