Job description

WHO WE ARE

VSC is a team of growth-focused strategists, storytellers, and data-driven marketers obsessed with creating unfair advantages for startups. For over 23 years, we've partnered with 1500+ brands, helping them achieve over $50B in exits and IPOs.

Our work includes driving seven-figure revenue through storytelling for brands like Groq, Windsurf, Pebble, Tile, Prenuvo, Outdoorsy, Molekule, Poshmark, Ample, and Fizz, to name a few.

At VSC, you'll join an award-winning team of creatives, strategists, and data nerds who are shaping the future of brand growth and storytelling.

WHO YOU ARE

A self-starter with a passion for storytelling, media/influencer relations, and multimedia content creation. You're tech-savvy, with familiarity in AI, media monitoring platforms, and social media optimization.

  • A killer writer - show us your LinkedIn posts and prove it
  • A freestyler - you win friends and influence people with your on-the-spot ideas, clarity, brevity, and humor
  • A critical thinker - you question everything and can remix insights across what you read, hear, and see
  • A design and AI maven - you know how to whip up something stunning in Canva and use your favorite AI tool to make it even better
  • A leader - you show up early, roll up your sleeves, and dive into whatever the day holds

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • 3-5 years working in PR on the agency side or in-house at a start-up with some wins on the board (coverage, product launches, ideas that stuck)
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with journalists/ influencers and secure media coverage for clients
  • Mastery of AI tools like ChatGpt, Claude and Perpelexity to create and evaluate excellence in all you do
  • Experience working with content creators or helping clients build a voice online - not just media pitching
  • Ability to analyze and contextualize information and begin forming strategic recommendations
  • Great attention to detail and ability to set and manage to deadlines
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent writing skills and use of AP Style
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities
  • Have your own social presence because how can one advise a client if they don't know how to do it for themselves?

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

VSC understands that extraordinary people don't take ordinary jobs.

You'll work alongside people who have won more than 100 awards for breakthrough PR campaigns. Among your teammates are musicians, writers, spoken word artists, athletes, illusionists, rappers, gamers, and other creatives who work hard and celebrate each win, no matter how big or small.

Together, VSC has accrued decades of experience by working in the trenches with more than 900 businesses and startups to innovate their communications strategies in new ways. That's because we champion the obsessives, the geeks, the contrarians, and the idealists, and we embrace diversity in thought and practice.

Representation matters:

  • Our CEO Vijay Chattha is one of the only South Asian American Communications Agency CEOs in the U.S. and was recently named Top 25 innovators in North America.
  • 30% female founder clients / 35% companies have people of color in founding team
  • We co-founded WorldWithoutCovid.org, the first registry to match people with trials for tests and therapies.
  • We co-founded the The100KPledge - a social contract for economic justice in Black communities
  • We launched Climb to devote our time to help climate tech startups access the best capital, the smartest talent, and the most strategic partners

BE A POWERHOUSE IN YOUR PAJAMAS

We're a Work-From-Anywhere team that keeps connected with themed celebrations, all-hands meetings, and entrepreneur freestyles. If you want access to the forefront of technology and design with a solid workplace to stay grounded, VSC is the place for you.
